The Politecnico di Torino’s journey toward a Sustainable Campus is overseen by the Green Team, a hub that gathers expertise and awareness related to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations’ 2030 Agenda, adapted to the university context.
The Team’s objective is to promote the integration of sustainable development topics across university research, teaching, communication, and all support activities, in order to prepare students and staff to face the major challenges set by the 2030 Agenda.
Activities are organised into specific Working Groups (WG), coordinated by University Coordinators, following vertical lines of action and supported by cross-cutting engagement initiatives to advance the University’s “third mission” objectives. Members of the Green Team discuss and develop initiatives through 5 thematic Working Groups: Energy and Climate Change, Sustainable Mobility, Resources, Education and Public Awareness, and Inclusion and Equity.
The Green Team is supported by the SAIL Directorate in particular by the Sustainability Service which coordinates the operational implementation of the various activities in collaboration with the University Project Development Service and the Campus Services Monitoring unit.
The Green Team coordinators are the points of contact for the 5 areas of interest:

The Green Team consists of over 90 members, including professors, researchers and technical and administrative staff representing all PoliTO structures, areas and departments, as well as representatives of the student body and University bodies.
Through thematic working groups (Energy and Climate Change, Sustainable Mobility, Resources, Education and Public Awareness, Inclusion and Equity), Green Team members discuss and develop initiatives aimed at promoting the integration of sustainable development issues into university research, teaching, communication and campus services, in order to address the major challenges set out in the United Nations 2030 Agenda.
The Green Team meets periodically in plenary session to update itself on the activities of the Working Groups and cross-cutting initiatives so that the representatives of the Areas and Departments participating in them can report back on what has been discussed.
