The Certified e-mail (Posta Elettronica Certificata - PEC in Italian) is a mailing system providing to the sender legal electronic documents to prove the correct sending and reception of digital documents.
To "certify" the correct sending and reception of digital documents, the sender is provided by the mailing system with legal receipts proving that the message and any attached documents have been sent. When the message reaches the recipient, the sender is also provided with a receipt of successful (or failed) delivery with precise time stamps.
In case the sender loses any of those receipts, they can be legally reproduced thanks to the PEC tracking system, lasting for 30 months.
Politecnico di Torino PEC address is: politecnicoditorino@pec.polito.it
