The Polito Language Centre (CLA) offers activities to help students to learn English. It also organizes exams sessions to obtain an internationally recognized English language certificate.
The English Language exam is recorded in your transcript if you meet the requirements illustrated in the Student Guide. To this end, Politecnico di Torino gives you the opportunity to take the IELTS Academic test on paper on campus. Politecnico manages the registration process using its internal platforms and organizes the written parts at the university. An external examination board is in charge of administering the exam, as well as assessing and publishing the results.
The IELTS Academic test is an internationally-recognized English language certificate for university students. It is designed to assess and certify your English-language skills based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Language Skills (CEFR) approved by the Council of Europe.
The IELTS test organized by Politecnico:
- is IELTS Academic, in paper-based format
- is delivered exclusively in person at the university
- covers the four parts: Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking
Please carefully read the full description of the IELTS test.
For general information about IELTS, please consult the official website:
Politecnico di Torino also accepts other English language certificates that students can get outside the university on their own. Accepted certificates are chosen by Politecnico according to specific criteria. Check the Student Guide of your degree programme - "Foreign language learning" chapter for more information.
