Favoring the self-fulfillment of those who work and study at Politecnico through the promotion of physical, psychological and social well-being.
Fundamental to improving corporate welfare are care and attention to the people who make up the Athenaeum.
On the one hand, welfare services, on the other hand, the well-being of an organizational life that concerns the relationship between the person, the work and the organization as a whole.Feeling comfortable at the workplace today is essential: the well-being of an organizational life involves the relationship between the individual, the working activities and the organization as a whole. It is a relationship that includes both positive and negative aspects, which can affect people's well-being at work.
In order to create a real quality working life, Politecnico di Torino uses two main tools: the Survey on Organizational Well-being, coming in 2021 to its third edition and carried out with the scientific contribution of Departimento di Psicologia dell'Università di Torino, and the Counselling Service which offers free psychological support to all students and university staff.
With a view to well-being, also the buddy program and smart working have been activated.
Buddy program is a project, in its fourth edition, that involves scholarship students who carry out mentoring and support activities for “freshmen” as detailed here.
Smart working is a working option characterized by the absence of time or spatial constraints that helps workers reconcile life and work, at the same time, encourage the growth of its productivity. Politecnico di Torino was a pioneer in using this form of work organization among its employees, capturing, before the health emergency, a percentage between 15 and 20% of the technical and administrative staff members.
The Survey on the quality of organizational life has the aim of providing a frame of the organizational well-being of Politecnico through the analysis of the data, which are collected through a specific questionnaire, by the team of the Department of Psychology of the University of Turin. The questionnaire is submitted through an IT platform, which guarantees respect for privacy and the collection of data in aggregate form.
At its third edition in 2021, it is a survey activity aimed at collecting the perceptions of those who work and study at Politecnico di Torino on a combination of factors that define the quality of organizational life. The goal is identifying all elements that can affect the level of well-being of the people who work and study at Politecnico, by influencing it positively or negatively.

The Counselling service (Spazio di ascolto) is a service for the student community and staff of the Politecnico, directed at people experiencing psychological distress.
For the student community, it can be about issues in dealing with certain situations in their university experience, such as anxiety, lack of motivation, relational discomfort, difficulties in concentrating or organising time and study.
As far as TAB, teaching, research and fellowship staff are concerned, it can be a matter of becoming aware of and understanding their own emotional experiences regarding to the execution of their work and the inconveniences that may arise from it, and see possible solutions.
Listening, counselling and support are offered in complete confidentiality by staff with an extensive experience in psychology, thanks to the availability of the Department of Psychology of the University of Turin, which collaborates with the Politecnico in providing such a service.
Remote sessions are also possible: in this case, you will need to be equipped with a microphone and web cam for the sessions.
Requests will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

Following this first interview, the person will be assigned to a psychologist on the basis of their availability and the matters highlighted during the telephone interview. The cycle of 5 sessions is held online on Webex or Skype Other platforms may be used in agreement with the contacted psychologist.
