Workshop in Paris: Dwelling without a home

Imagine a workshop that invites you to look at the city from a different perspective, questioning the very meaning of dwelling.
The central theme is “dwelling without a home” in Paris, where people experiencing homelessness represent only the most “visible” part of a much broader phenomenon of housing precarity.

What modes and strategies do they adopt to inhabit urban space? And what kinds of relationships do they establish with support services?

This workshop, which will take place in Paris from June 8th to 12th, was created to explore these exact questions together with the association La Cloche (https://www.lacloche.org/), an organization acting against the exclusion of people in precarious situations by promoting local social ties and fostering a more inclusive society.

Through meetings, urban explorations, and open discussions, we will try to understand what " dwelling without a home" truly means, observing how city spaces are lived in and transformed by those who lack access to housing. It will also be an opportunity to reflect on the right to the city as a common good, accessible to everyone, and on urban policies that often restrict the free use of spaces and favor their privatization.

If you are interested in participating in a field research and discussion experience, this workshop is for you.
Important: Travel, food, and accommodation expenses will be fully reimbursed for 4 selected students.
