Team ISAAC - Masterclass: Design, 3D Printing & Task Management

Team ISAAC, the service robotics team from Politecnico di Torino, invites the student community to its open Masterclass— Design, 3D Printing & Task Management.

Participants will have the opportunity to learn hands-on how to manage a technical design task, create a project in SolidWorks, and prepare it for 3D printing — exactly as the Team does when designing the competition robots.

MASTERCLASS PROGRAM
Where: room 1S
When: 13 November 2025 at 7,00 pm
Duration: about 1h 30min
Open to: PoliTo students

What:
  • How to approach a real design task — from idea to prototype
  • Introduction to SolidWorks: sketches, extrusions, assemblies
  • Best practices in parametric modeling and constraints
  • 3D printing tolerances: how to go from CAD to reality
  • Using configurations and managing different part versions
  • Basic task management and shared drive setup for teamwork
The session will be based on a real case study: designing an end effector for the robotic arm of the Team’s rescue robot Rese.Q.
An opportunity for students curious about how the Team works and interested in gaining skills used in real robotics design.

The recording will be uploaded online.
