Ready for another Level Up?
Level Up Lab, in collaboration with IGDA Italy, is back with a new “How To Level Up” event focused on game design at the Politecnico di Torino!
Many games leverage strong narrative elements to deeply engage players, but what are the ways to create such an immersive atmosphere?
Rugerfred, a senior game designer with six years of experience who has worked on board games like Marvel United and Cyberpunk 2077: Gangs of Night City, will be the guide through it.
This talk explores how the Scandinavian analog game design scene has developed unique tools to foster play experiences that are intimate, personal, and transformative.
There will be a deeper exploration of some of these techniques born from Nordic LARP and experimental approaches to role-playing and board games, with a focus on how design can encourage the emergence of emotions.
Following the talk, there will be a hands-on workshop that will guide participants in creating “playable” characters built around emotional hooks, designed to leave room for player agency.
WHERE?
The talk will take place on May 3rd from 10:30 AM to 3:30 PM in Room 27 at the Sede Centrale of the Politecnico di Torino.
To participate, register for free at this link.
