Milano - Torino 2026

The Milano–Torino, the oldest cycling race in the world, starting from Rho and finishing in Superga, celebrates its 150th anniversary this year.
To mark the occasion, the Politecnico di Torino will take part in several initiatives within the official programme of an event that has, over time, witnessed great champions competing and has served as a laboratory for innovation.

On Tuesday 17th, at 5:30 p.m., in Room 2 of the Cinema Massimo on Via Verdi 18, the Cycling Forum will take place—one of the main events leading up to the race.
Among the speakers will be Professor Ada Ferri from the Department of Applied Science and Technology (DISAT), with a talk entitled “From Wool Jerseys to Carbon Frames: A History of Fibres and Performance.” The presentation will explore the profound transformation that cycling has undergone in recent years thanks to advancements in fibres and materials, which have revolutionised both technical apparel and frame design.
Wednesday 18th will be race day.
While awaiting the arrival of the professional cyclists in Turin, the amateur time trial to the Basilica of Superga—organised by RCS in collaboration with the regional FCI—will feature the participation of a group of students from PoliTO Cycling, the university cycling club of Turin, which today involves more than one thousand members and includes over 100 athletes.
With this initiative, the Politecnico reaffirms its presence at major sporting events in the region, underscoring the role of sport within the University as a driver of well-being, research, and innovation for the entire community.
