Wabtec @ PoliTO: Safety-related electronic architectures for railways applications

Join this Tech Talk on May 7th with Faiveley Transport Italia SPA by Wabtec, where we will cover the topic of high safety transport for passenger and safe environment for users, operation, maintenance personnel that Railways Companies must provide.

Several on-board train and ground infrastructure sub-systems have a direct impact on the human safety, and for this reason, over the years, dedicated European Standards have been created to provide criteria and rules driving safety level identification and related design rules for said railways subsystems.

The speech will be divided in two parts: the first part will give some basics about said European Standards, especially dedicated to safety-related electronic subsystem design; the second part will deal with design rules for microprocessor-based safety-related subsystems, focusing on Brake Control systems for passenger train.
