📌 What is the Codice Fiscale?
The Codice Fiscale is an alphanumeric code (made up of letters and numbers) based on your name, surname, date, and place of birth. In Italy, it is used to uniquely identify individuals and is required for many official procedures.
🛠 What is it used for?
You need a Codice Fiscale to: complete your enrollment at Politecnico, open a bank account, receive scholarships or salary payments, register a rental contract.
📍 How to get it?
You can request your Codice Fiscale in one of the following ways:
- At the Italian Embassy or Consulate in your home country.
- At Politecnico di Torino, every Monday from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM, at the Immigration Desk (ground floor, Corso Castelfidardo), by appointment only through the Reservation Tool available on the Teaching Portal.
During the months of September, October, and February, opening days and hours will be extended to better meet the needs of the student population. (Check the updated service hours during the Welcome Weeks)
📑 Required documents
For your appointment, please bring:
- the completed application form
Here you can find the form necessary for the request. Here the sample (how to fill in it) - your Passport or National ID card (plus a photocopy),
- your Visa (only for non-EU citizens) and a photocopy.
ℹ️ Note for students with dual citizenship (EU and non-EU)
According to Italian law, European citizenship takes precedence.
Therefore, your Codice Fiscale will be issued based on the information in your European passport.
