BEST - Board of European Students of Technology - is a non-partisan, apolitical and non-profit international organisation. Since 1989, it promotes communication, cooperation and exchange among students from all over Europe. The purpose of the Student Society is helping students of European technological universities to develop a more open and cosmopolitan mindset, fostering their natural propensity to understand different cultural values. It also offers students the opportunity to meet and learn from each other through academic, non-academic events and educational symposia.
BEST is at the centre of a "student-university-business" triangle and, through local and international events, brings these three elements together and compares them. BEST Torino is one of the fourteen founding groups of the network; since 1989, it has been present in 30 countries and 85 of the most prestigious technical universities in Europe.
The local group within Politecnico di Torino is formed by students of the university who voluntarily dedicate part of their time to the implementation of various events that take place during the academic year. The statutory objective of BEST is to provide these students with an education complementary to the university courses. One important aspect characterizing BEST commitment is undoubtedly the internationalization of its members: there is the possibility to grow through the concrete possibility of cultivating lasting contacts with other students, with other universities and with companies, to provide extra-academic training and acquire the soft skills necessary for practical placement in today’s working world.
