A BIT OF HISTORY
The Rowing Regatta dates back to 1997, the event’s first edition. It has since become a classic autumn event in Turin, celebrating its 27th edition on Friday, October 4, 2024.
The University Sports Center of Turin (CUS Torino) conceived this event as a counterpart to the historic challenge between the prestigious English universities of Cambridge and Oxford (held since the 19th century on the Thames River). The goal is to promote a sense of belonging to the universities, university sports in Turin, and rowing, while also connecting these elements with the culture and history that define the city of Turin. The British rowing challenge inspired CUS Torino to adopt this tradition, giving university student-athletes the opportunity to experience the thrills of rowing in their local area.
