The Call

The call for applications for admissions to the Ph.D. programmes of the 39th cycle is now open!

The call for applications provides information on the Ph.D. programmes, positions and scholarships available for the upcoming Ph.D.cycle. The Call also explains how to take part in the selection process and the mandatory deadlines.

After reading the Call, please submit your application from the Apply@polito platform.

The Call for applications is divided into separate sessions. Applicants who accept an offer of admission for a position in a specific session cannot take part in the next sessions.

Selected applicants may receive a scholarship. Scholarships are assigned on a merit basis and depending on the expertise of the applicant in the specific research field, according to the applicant's position in the final ranking list. 

Politecnico di Torino encourages also applications from female candidates to promote gender balance in STEM and equal opportunities, in line with the priorities of the National Resilience and Recovery Plan (PNRR) and the objectives of the Gender Equality Plan of Politecnico.

The positions

Available positions are divided into:

  • Ordinary positions
    • fully funded Ph.D. positions with own research topic; 
    • fully funded Ph.D. positions with predefined research topic; 
    • Ph.D. positions offered in apprenticeship format;
    • Ph.D. positions without scholarship.
  • Reserved positions
    • Ph.D. positions reserved to students who receive a scholarship funded by Governments or by national or foreign public bodies, who are eligible to be admitted to a Ph.D. programme;
    • Ph.D. positions reserved to research fellows;
    • Ph.D. positions reserved to Chinese citizens benefiting from a scholarship funded by the China Scholarship Council - PoliTo-PhD-China Project (CSC);
    • Ph.D. positions in the framework of the PoliTo for Refugees Project.

Some positions are reserved to candidates selected by special Boards within the framework of specific international programmes in which Politecnico di Torino is involved.
