Procedure and requirements for admission

Procedure

Applicants are required to submit their application for admission online on the Apply@polito platform. 

All applicants must pay a non-refundable application fee (€ 30,00) for each application submitted (one application per each PhD programme). 

After submitting the application, no changes are allowed. It will not be possible to upload any other document. 

Requirements

Applications are open to Italian and foreign citizens who meet the following requirements by the deadline of each session of the call:

 Applicants with an academic qualification (2nd level) obtained in ItalyApplicants with an academic qualification (2nd level) obtained abroad
a)Master’s degree (Laurea Magistrale) or Laurea specialistica or academic degree belonging to the university system pre-dating M.D. no. 509 of 3rd November 1999, as amended by M.D. no. 270 of 22nd October 2004 – with minimum final grade: 95/110.Academic qualification valid for admission to a PhD programme in their country with the minimum average grade of the exams as illustrated in the Call.
b)English language certificate – level B2, as defined by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), among those indicated in the call, regardless of the date of conferral. Certificates different from the ones listed in the call will not be accepted. If one of the exemption cases from submitting the English language certification applies to students with an Italian or foreign degree, the submission of the language certification is not required.

Applicants who still do not have the required academic qualification and/or the English language certificate on the deadlines indicated in the call are allowed to apply as long as they meet both requirements by and no later than the deadlines specified in the call.

For Ph.D. programmes offered in apprenticeship format, applicants must be aged less than 30 at the moment of employment. Applicants interested in this kind of programme must select “apprenticeship programme” when they fill out their application. Selected applicants are admitted to the programme without any scholarship and they are hired by the company with an apprenticeship contract having the same duration of the PhD programme.
