The initiative "Attraction and retention of quality faculty " is promoted under the multi-year Convention between the Politecnico di Torino and Compagnia di San Paolo (CSP) for the period 2022-2024 and in continuity with the projects funded by previous Conventions with CSP.

The 2022-2024 Convention was created with a view to having increasingly competitive, attractive and innovative universities, thanks to the implementation of specific actions including those aimed at supporting the mobility of researchers and the attraction of scholars from abroad.

In line with the "Polito4Impact" Strategic Plan 2018-2024, the "Attraction and Retention of Quality faculty" project aims to attract talented scholars, particularly from abroad, with skills complementary to those already present in the University.

The project includes a set of intervention measures aimed, on the one hand, at facilitating their start-up in their new place of work, through support in the creation of the research group and laboratory, and on the other hand, at facilitating and supporting their integration into the new reality.

The measures include in particular the awarding of a Starting Grant, to be used to support the costs necessary to carry out the scholar's program of research activities. This grant constitutes a competitive attractiveness tool in that it provides a guarantee of freedom in the conduct of research, from its inception in the new place of work.
