    The EIB is the European Union’s bank representing the interests of the EU Member States and working closely with the other EU institutions to implement European policy.
  • EURATOM
    The research and training programme of the European Atomic Energy Community, which, for the 2021-25 period, aims to carry out research and training activities in the nuclear field, focusing on the continuous improvement of nuclear safety, security and radiation protection, and to complete the achievement of the Horizon Europe objectives.  
  • Digital Europe Programme
    The European programme supporting the digital transformation of European societies and economies, enabling European businesses and citizens to reap its benefits.  
  • European Space Programme
    The main objectives of the new space programme are to ensure EU leadership in space activities, promote innovative industries, safeguard autonomous access to space and simplify governance.  The Space Programme upgrades the European Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) Agency by expanding its tasks and transforming it into the new EU Space Programme Agency.
  • JPI - JOINT PROGRAMMING INITIATIVE
    The Joint programming initiative whose aim is to combine national research efforts in order to make better use of Europe’s valuable public R&D resources to tackle common European challenges more effectively in certain key areas.
  • LIFE
    The EU financial tool to support projects active in environment, nature and climate conservation issues in all of the EU. 
  • EDA
    The European Defence Agency supports the European Council and Member States in their efforts to improve the European Union's defence capabilities through cooperation projects and programmes.
  • NATO
    The North Atlantic Treaty Organisation whose fundamental purpose is to safeguard the freedom and security of its members through political and military means.

European territorial cooperation

European territorial cooperation is a central element in the construction of a common European space and a pillar of European integration; it contributes to ensuring that borders do not become barriers, promotes the solution of common problems, facilitates the sharing of ideas and good practices, and encourages strategic collaboration to achieve common goals. European territorial cooperation is also financed through the EU Structural Funds.

The main European territorial cooperation programmes in which Politecnico di Torino takes part are:

  • ALCOTRA
    Cross-border cooperation programme along the border between Italy and France.
  • ALPINE SPACE
    European transnational cooperation programme for the development of Alpine regions.
  • CENTRAL EUROPE
    Regional cooperation programme between Central European countries:  Austria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia and Slovenia, as well as parts of Germany and Italy. The aim of the programme is to implement smart solutions that meet regional challenges in innovation, low-carbon economy, environment, culture and transportation.
  • ESPON
    European Observation Network for Territorial Development and Cohesion.
  • INTERREG EUROPE
    Interregional cooperation programme for the improvement of the effectiveness of regional policies and instruments.
  • MED
    Transnational European Territorial Cooperation Programme to address territorial challenges across national borders, such as environmental risk management, international work or transportation corridors.
  • URBACT III
    European territorial cooperation programme for the promotion of sustainable urban development.
