Students with a non-Italian Bachelor's degree:

  • Curricular requirements: the verification of the admission requirements is carried out in advance by the Academic Advisor of the programme. In case of approval, the Academic Advisor will decide on the recognition of the credits that you earned during a previous Master's degree programme – credit transfer;
  • Language requirements: students with a non-Italian Bachelor's degree who intend to transfer to an Italian-taught programme must have an Italian language certificate.

  1. SUBMIT THE APPLICATION: see the specific section.
  2. WAIT FOR THE EVALUATION OF YOUR ACADEMIC RECORDS:
    1. wait for the evaluation of your previous academic records (conducted by the Academic Advisor of the degree programme) with the possible recognition of previously earned credits. The number of credits that can be recognized will be visible only after the conclusion of the evaluation process;
    2. wait until you receive an offer of admission from Politecnico before submitting your transfer out application to your current university. See the Student Guide – Creating your APSP/PSP

Transfer in or withdrawal?
Before starting any transfer process at your current university, you should consider two different options:

  • transfer (congedo): this option is suggested if you have already passed some exams at your university of origin and you intend to request credit transfer. In this case, the year of your first enrolment is the year when you enrolled in the Italian university system for the first time (years spent at your current university are calculated for your learning path at Politecnico);
  • withdrawal from studies (rinuncia agli studi): this is suggested if you have not taken any exam yet or just a few of them. After withdrawing from your current university, you will be able to enrol as a first-year Master's student at Politecnico di Torino (years spent at your current university are not calculated for your learning path at Politecnico).

We remind you that:

  • If you come from another university you must earn a minimum of 50 credits (excluding the thesis credits) at Politecnico di Torino in order to earn your Master’s degree.
  • Transfers are possible only between Italian universities.

If you want to enrol in a Master’s degree programme at Politecnico and obtain the recognition of your previously earned credits (credit transfer), you need to have one of the following degrees:

  • Master’s degree - Laurea Magistrale D.M. 270/04

FAQ

Yes, you can apply for admission to a Master’s degree programme even if you have not yet graduated, provided that you have already earned at least 140 ECTS credits required by your Bachelor’s degree study plan.

You can submit your application even if you do not have an English language certificate yet. However, you will need to upload your certificate by the enrolment deadline, as it is a mandatory admission requirement.

If you do not have an English language certificate by the enrolment deadline, you can register for single courses: you can choose the first semester courses of Year 1 of the Master’s degree programme you have chosen. This option allows you to take the IELTS exam in the IELTS sessions organised by Polito University Language Centre (CLA) at a reduced cost compared to taking the exam with an external provider.

Unfulfilled academic requirements are additional exams that you must take if your application for admission to a Master’s degree programme is rejected because you do not meet all the curricular requirements. In practice, they allow you to fill the gaps between your Bachelor’s background and the prerequisites of the Master’s degree programme you have chosen.

This status appears in your personal page only if you come from another university. To complete your enrolment, you must go through the verification of your identity and personal data: without this step, you will be definitively excluded from the enrolment process.
