  4. A new section, called Single Courses, will be displayed, and you will be able to see the list of the suggested courses that you need to take in order to make up for your unfulfilled curricular requirements.
  5. Submit your request from the SAVE and SUBMIT section and pay your fees from the Evaluations section.
  6. You will receive your student ID number and the access credentials to log in to your personal page of the Teaching Portal after completing your payment.

The deadline for enrolling in single courses is 24 March 2027.

Please note that for applicants from other Italian Universities

After enrolling in single courses is necessary to come in person to the Student Careers Unit during opening times, bringing with you a valid ID, to complete the enrolment process with the identification and verification of your personal data.  Failure to do so entails permanent exclusion from the enrolment process. The deadline for completing the identification phase is 08/04/2027. Until the completion of this phase, you will have limited access to the services available on your personal page on the Teaching Portal

What happens after fulfilling your curricular requirements

When all the grades of your single courses are recorded in your transcript, you need to contact the Student Careers Unit using the Ticketing Support System to close your position as a "student enrolled in single courses," and you will be able to complete the enrolment process in your Master’s degree programme.

After completing the enrolment process, you must create your Annual Personal Study Plan and your Personal Study Plan within 10 days of the date of enrolment.

Important

  • Courses assigned to you as “unfulfilled curricular requirements” cannot be recognized after enrolment in a Master's degree programme, even if they are part of the study plan.
  • The grade earned in these exams is not included in the calculation of your average grade for Master's graduation.
  • Students who were assigned some “unfulfilled curricular requirements” but failed to enrol in single courses by 24/03/2027 will NOT be able to enrol in single courses “for open competitive exams, professional updating and requalification.”
  • Enrolment in single courses for unfulfilled curricular requirements is active for the entire academic year. If you do not pass the courses by the enrolment deadline for 2026/27, you may still take the exams up to the September 2027 session, but enrolment in the Master's would only be possible from the following academic year (2027/28)

Requirements

To enrol in single courses you need to:

  • submit the application for admission to the Master's degree programme you are interested in;
  • meet the following admission requirements: suitable academic performance + curricular requirements;
  • have already earned your Bachelor's degree;
  • meet the deadline for enrolment in single courses.

Procedure

The guided procedure for enrolment in single courses will become visible as soon as you receive a positive evaluation for your curricular requirements and academic performance and a negative evaluation for language requirements (language certificate missing) under the Evaluations section of the Apply@polito platform.

  1. Go to the Evaluations section of your personal page of the Apply@polito platform and click “Enrol in single courses”.
  2. Go to the Single Courses section:  you will see the list of all first-semester courses offered in Year 1 by all the specialist pathways of the Master's degree programme you have chosen (please see the course catalogue of your programme published on the website). You do not need to select all the courses, but only the courses that you want to attend. Do not forget that after completing the enrolment process, you will not be able to include in your APSP the first-semester courses that you have not purchased during this phase, except for the courses that can be be advanced at Bachelor’s level (these courses will be marked in the course catalogue)
  3. Select your courses, save the list and submit your request from the SAVE and SUBMIT section.
  4. Complete your enrolment from the Evaluations section and pay the required amount.

IMPORTANT: Enrolment in single courses for unfulfilled language requirements is permitted exclusively in first semester. Courses not selected at this stage cannot be added later, except for courses marked as can be taken before attendance in the course catalogue.

The deadline for completing the identification phase is 03/12/2027. Until the completion of this phase, you will have limited access to the services available on your personal page on the Teaching Portal

Internal transfers, Transfers in and Credit transfer

To request an internal transfer to another Master's programme at Politecnico di Torino, you must meet the admission requirements and comply with the applicable deadlines. The procedure is available in the Student Guide.

Students with a non-Italian Bachelor's degree:

  • Curricular requirements: the verification of the admission requirements is carried out in advance by the Academic Advisor of the programme. In case of approval, the Academic Advisor will decide on the recognition of the credits that you earned during a previous Master's degree programme – credit transfer
  • Language requirements: students with a non-Italian Bachelor's degree who intend to transfer to an Italian-taught programme must have an Italian language certificate.

The procedure is:

  1. SUBMIT THE APPLICATION: see the specific section.
  2. WAIT FOR THE EVALUATION:
    1. wait for the evaluation of your previous academic records (conducted by the Academic Advisor of the degree programme) with the possible recognition of previously earned credits. The results of this evaluation will be available on your Apply@polito personal page – Evaluations section. The number of credits that can be recognized will be visible only after the conclusion of the evaluation process;
    2. wait until you receive an offer of admission from Politecnico before submitting your transfer out application to your current university. Your current university will send the Transfer Out Clearance Form to Politecnico di Torino. Upon reception of this document, our offices will check your previous data and enable your enrolment
  3. ENROL AND FILL YOUR PSP/APSP
    See the Student Guide – Creating your APSP/PSP

Transfer in or withdrawal?
Before starting any transfer process at your current university, you should consider two different options:

  • transfer (congedo): this option is suggested if you have already passed some exams at your university of origin and you intend to request credit transfer. In this case, the year of your first enrolment is the year when you enrolled in the Italian university system for the first time (years spent at your current university are calculated for your learning path at Politecnico);
  • withdrawal from studies (rinuncia agli studi): this is suggested if you have not taken any exam yet or just a few of them. After withdrawing from your current university, you will be able to enrol as a first-year Master's student at Politecnico di Torino (years spent at your current university are not calculated for your learning path at Politecnico).

We remind you that:

  • If you come from another university you must earn a minimum of 50 credits (excluding the thesis credits) at Politecnico di Torino in order to earn your Master’s degree.
  • Transfers are possible only between Italian universities.

To enrol in a Master’s degree programme at Politecnico and obtain the recognition of your previously earned credits (credit transfer), you need to have one of the following degrees:

  • Master’s degree - Laurea Magistrale D.M. 270/04
  • Laurea Specialistica D.M. 509/99
  • Five-year degree - Laurea quinquennale ordinamento previgente D.M. 509/99.

Procedure

  1. Submit the application

    You are required to meet the deadlines and follow the procedure for admission to the Master’s degree programme you are interested in. In addition, you must:

  2.  Wait for the evaluation

    Your previous academic records will be evaluated by the Academic Advisor of the programme for the possible recognition of your previously earned credits(credit transfer). (You cannot ask us to give you an informal evaluation of your previous academic records.) At the end of the evaluation process, you will be able to accept or reject the credit transfer that you will find in the Evaluations section of your Apply@polito page. Make sure you meet the deadlines for this operation.

  3. Enrol
    If your academic record is from another university, once you have accepted the recognition of your credits, you will need to pay €16 for each credit recognised: once payment has been made, your academic record cannot be amended. You should then complete your online enrolment via the link in the ‘Assessments’ section of Apply@polito: once this is done, you will receive your student ID number and login details.
  4. Fill out your PSP/ APSP
    Make sure your create your PSP/APSP within 10 days of the date of enrolment.

Credit transfer after withdrawal/forfeiture

FAQ

Yes, you can apply for admission to a Master’s degree programme even if you have not yet graduated, provided that you have already earned at least 140 ECTS credits required by your Bachelor’s degree study plan.

You can submit your application even if you do not have an English language certificate yet. However, you will need to upload your certificate by the enrolment deadline, as it is a mandatory admission requirement.

If you do not have an English language certificate by the enrolment deadline, you can register for single courses: you can choose the first semester courses of Year 1 of the Master’s degree programme you have chosen. This option allows you to take the IELTS exam in the IELTS sessions organised by Polito University Language Centre (CLA) at a reduced cost compared to taking the exam with an external provider.

Unfulfilled academic requirements are additional exams that you must take if your application for admission to a Master’s degree programme is rejected because you do not meet all the curricular requirements. In practice, they allow you to fill the gaps between your Bachelor’s background and the prerequisites of the Master’s degree programme you have chosen.

What is the difference between enrolment in the first semester and enrolment in the second semester?

FIRST SEMESTER
If you enrol in the first semester, you can include in your Personal Study Plan all your Master’s courses, both offered in first and in second semester. After enrolment, you must complete your Personal Study Plan and Annual Personal Study Plan, in accordance with the rules and the deadlines set out in the Student Guide for academic year 2026/27.

SECOND SEMESTER
You can enrol in the second semester if you fall into one of the following cases:

  • you got your Bachelor’s degree at Politecnico di Torino in the December–March graduation period, without advancing any Master’s course;
  • you graduated from another university after the deadline for enrolment in the first semester.

In this case, you can include in your Personal Study Plan:

  • courses offered in the first semester of Year 1, only if they are marked as “courses that can be advanced” in the course catalogue;
  • second-semester courses of Year 1 and Year 2.

If you come from another university, you can attend classes immediately, but you must wait until you are officially enrolled at Polito in order to fill in your Personal Study Plan / Annual Personal Study Plan and get access to course materials.

This status appears in your personal page only if you come from another university. To complete your enrolment, you must go through the verification of your identity and personal data: without this step, you will be definitively excluded from the enrolment process.

The deadlines are:

  • 3 December 2026 if you enrolled in the first semester;
  • 8 April 2027 if you enrolled in the second semester.

To complete the enrolment process, you must go in person to the Student Careers Unit e during opening hours and bring the identity document you provided when you registered on the Apply@polito platform.

Until you complete the enrolment process, you will have limited access to university services: for example, you will not be able to request enrolment certificates or register for any exam. After your identity has been verified, the status “Enrolment to be completed” will be removed from your personal page.

You can request an internal transfer to another Master’s degree programme at Politecnico di Torino. Please note that you cannot request a transfer during the academic year. You must submit your request in advance for the next academic year by the deadlines. You also need to meet the admission requirements to the programme you like to transfer to. Please note that you cannot request an internal transfer in Year 1.

You can find the procedure for internal transfers in the Student Guide for academic year 2026/27.

If you are enrolled in a Master’s degree programme at another Italian university and you wish to continue your studies at Politecnico di Torino, you must submit your academic background for evaluation through the Apply@polito platform, in accordance with the deadlines. The evaluation is required to verify that you meet Polito admission requirements and to transfer the credits of the exams that you already passed.

For more information, please check the section: “Transfers from other universities”.
