Digital Student Smart Card
The Politecnico di Torino issues all students with a digital Smart Card, available:
- on the Teaching Portal, under the Personal Area section;
- on the PoliTO Students App, under the Profile section.
The Smart Card can be used to:
- certify your status as a Politecnico di Torino student;
- access the University Library loan service.
Useful information
- To access EDISU dining services, you can use the EDISU Piemonte – Campus Piemonte ID Meal app.
- To load your GTT public transport pass, you must visit an authorised service point or use a Piemove Card or BIP Card.
- For identification purposes during examinations, students may present the digital Smart Card through the PoliTO App or, alternatively, a valid identity document.
Physical Smart Card
The physical Smart Card is not mandatory. It is required only to access Department buildings or other facilities where its use is necessary; for all other services, the digital Smart Card is sufficient.
Students who need a physical Smart Card can request one through the Booking Tool available on the Teaching Portal.
Physical Smart Cards will be available for collection from 5 October 2026, every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday afternoon.
The Smart Card can only be collected by appointment, starting two working days after the booking, at the Student Registrar's Office (Corso Castelfidardo 39, ground floor).
The Smart Card must be collected in person and cannot be collected by a representative.
The Smart Card is strictly personal and must be kept safe. In the event of loss or damage, a duplicate may be requested by following the same procedure and paying the fee established by the Student Fees and Contributions Regulations. If a police report for theft is provided, the duplicate will be issued free of charge.
