(1) Applicants who get their Bachelor's degree in the July graduation period are strongly encouraged to enrol in September, in order to take advantage of all services offered by Politecnico from the beginning of classes.
You can submit your application even if you have not earned your Bachelor’s degree yet, but you need to have earned at least 140 credits at Bachelor’s level on the date of application submission.
You can enrol in a Master's degree programme both in first semester and in second semester.
You can apply for a maximum of 2 Master’s degree programmes. If you apply for a Master’s degree programme taught both in English and in Italian, it won’t be counted as 2 choices, but as a single choice. e.g. Ingegneria Meccanica + Mechanical Engineering = 1 choice.
Your application for admission is only valid for the academic year in which it is submitted. This means that - if you are admitted but you do not enrol in the programme or in single courses - you will have to apply again for admission in future academic years.
You can submit your application even if you don’t have an English language certificate yet.
The time frame for application submission is available on the Apply@polito platform, Deadlines section.
The time required for the evaluation of your application depends on the supervisor who conducts the evaluation. It normally takes approximately 10-20 days to get the results.
If you have been admitted to a Master’s degree programme but you cannot complete the enrolment process for different reasons (missing Bachelor’s degree/language certificate; transfer from another university), you will be able to read the learning material of the lectures and watch the video-lessons (if available) on your personal page of the Apply@polito platform while you wait until they can enrol.
After admission you will find a specific section on their Apply@polito page where you can join online classes (live), watch video-lectures (previously recorded by the teaching staff) and download the learning material.
Please note: video lessons are not available right after the end of the class. Normally it takes a few days until the recordings are published. It is up to the teaching staff to decide whether to publish the video recordings or not.
IMPORTANT: as soon as you enrol in the programme, you must create your Personal Study Plan/ Annual Personal Study Plan. In fact, selecting your courses on the Apply@polito platform IS NOT EQUIVALENT to creating your PSP/APSP.
You can enrol in a Master's degree programme both in first semester and in second semester. There are specific deadlines that you must meet.
ENROLMENT IN FIRST SEMESTER - RULES
If you enrol in a Master's degree programme in first semester, you are allowed to include both first-semester and second-semester courses in your Annual Personal Study Plan. After enrolling in the programme, you need to create your Personal Study Plan and fill in your Annual Personal Study Plan, following the rules published in the Student Guide 2024/25.
If you enrol after the deadline for creating the PSP/APSP, you will have 10 days from the date of enrolment to complete your PSP/APSP.
ENROLMENT IN SECOND SEMESTER - RULES
Applicants from PoliTo who graduate in December or March (who had not advanced any Master's courses) and applicants from other Italian universities who graduate after the deadline for the enrolment in first semester are allowed to enrol in a Master's degree programme in second semester.
This type of enrolment allows you to include in your APSP:
- first-year courses offered in first semester (only if they are courses that can be taken before the course is offered / delivered, these courses will be marked in the course catalogue);
- first-year courses offered in second semester;
- second-year courses offered in second semester.
Applicants from other Italian Universities will have to wait until they complete the enrolment process before they can actually select their courses. The courses can be chosen during the creation of the Personal Study Plan/Annual Personal Study Plan. In any case. These students are allowed to attend classes even if they have not enrolled in the programme yet.
ENROLMENT PROCEDURE
Before enrolling in a Master’s degree programme you need to have earned your Bachelor’s degree.
Follow these steps:
- you need to have earned your Bachelor’s degree
- Applicants from Politecnico di Torino: the registration of your Bachelor’s degree is automatic after graduation (Student status: GRADUATED).
- Applicants from other Italian Universities: you must enter your graduation date and final grade on the Apply@polito platform - Educational Background section.
- confirm the data previously entered in your application;
- click the button “Procedi con l’immatricolazione/Enrol” on the Apply@polito platform - Evaluations section;
- pay the first instalment of your tuition fees as indicated in the Tuition Fee Regulations a.y. 2024/25
Payment methods are the following:
- Credit cards (or other payment methods available on the PagoPA platform) generating an immediate payment;
- Pre-printed notice of payment (MAV on the PagoPA platform), generating a deferred payment. The use of a deferred payment method is valid solely and exclusively if – after paying – you go back to the Apply@polito platform and enter the date of payment in the dedicated field (self-certification – art. 46 and 47 of D.P.R. n. 445/2000). Both the payment and the self-certification declaration must be submitted by the same deadline. Should the self-declaration be found to be false or incorrect, the online enrolment will be cancelled and the applicant will lose the right to enrol at Politecnico for academic year 2024/25.
At the end of the payment phase, the system will show your student ID number and the access credentials to log in to your personal page of the Teaching Portal.
Applicants from other Italian universities: in addition to the procedure explained above, you must complete the enrolment process with the identification and verification of your personal data. The system will inform you that your enrolment has not been completed with a message shown on your personal page of the Teaching Portal – Message: “Immatricolazione da completare / Enrolment to be completed”.
Failure to complete the enrolment process (identification and verification of personal data) entails permanent exclusion from enrolment at Politecnico.
The deadlines to complete the enrolment process are the following:
- 20/12/2024 for students who enrol in first semester;
- 11/04/2025 for students who enrol in second semester.
You need to come in person to the University Registrar and Tuition Fees Unit during opening times bringing with you the identification document that you used for registration to the Apply@polito platform. On the day of the appointment, you will also collect your Smart Card.
You will have limited access to the services available on your personal page of the Teaching Portal (e.g. you cannot request enrolment certificates and cannot register for any exam, etc.) until you complete the enrolment process.
After completing the identification phase at the University Registrar and Tuition Fees Unit, the message shown on your personal page of the Teaching Portal – Message: “Immatricolazione da completare / Enrolment to be completed” will be automatically cancelled.
Students who enrol in a Master’s degree programme in second semester after withdrawing from studies
If you withdraw from a Polito Master’s degree programme after the deadline for enrolment in first semester, you will be able to enrol in a new Master's degree programme in second semester provided that you meet the specific deadlines.
Please check the Tuition Fee Regulations 2024/25 for more information.
If you do not meet some curricular requirements when you apply for admission to a Master’s degree programme, you must make up for these unfulfilled requirements (credits) before enrolling in a Master’s degree programme. You must enrol in single courses in order to earn the credits required for admission to the Master’s degree programme you have chosen. You can enrol in single courses for a maximum of 60 credits.
Fees and payment methods
For fees and payment methods, please read Tuition Fee Regulations for a.y. 2024/25
Procedure
Make sure you do NOT select "Enrol in SINGLE COURSES" in the “Select your programme” section of the Apply@polito platform but follow these steps:
- Submit your application for admission to the Master’s degree programme you have chosen and wait for the evaluation of your application; (see the Online application section)
- in the Evaluations section of the Apply@polito platform you will see that the status of your application is "rejected (respinto)" since you do not meet the curricular requirements;
- Click “Enrol in single courses” in the Evaluations section
- A new section, called Single Courses, will be displayed and you will be able to see the list of suggested courses that you need to take in order to make up for your unfulfilled curricular requirements.
- Submit your request from the SAVE and SUBMIT section and pay your fees from the Evaluations section.
You will receive your student ID number and the access credentials to log in to your personal page of the Teaching Portal after completing your payment.
The deadline for enrolling in single courses is 28 March 2025.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: applicants from other Italian Universities must complete the enrolment process with the identification and verification of their personal data. The deadline to complete the enrolment process is 11 April 2025. In the meantime you will have limited access to the services available on your personal page of the Teaching Portal (e.g. you cannot request enrolment certificates and cannot register for any exam, etc.) until you complete the enrolment process. |
How to make the identification and verification of personal data (enrolment to be completed)
You need to come in person to the University Registrar and Tuition Fees Unit during opening times bringing with you the identification document that you used for registration to the Apply@polito platform. On the day of the appointment, you will also collect your Smart Card.
After completing this phase, the message shown on your personal page of the Teaching Portal – Message: “Immatricolazione da completare / Enrolment to be completed” will be automatically deleted.
Following the approval of the Law on Double enrolment in two study courses, students from Politecnico and from other universities who have not earned their Bachelor's degree yet are allowed to enrol in single courses in order to make up for their unfulfilled curricular requirements for admission to a Master's degree programme. If you enrol in single courses, you will be able to take your second-semester courses during the 2024 Winter examination session, so you will not have to wait until the end of the second semester to take these exams. |
Please note that the courses assigned by the Teaching Committee to make up for your unfulfilled curricular requirements cannot be recognized after you enrol in your Master’s degree programme, even if they are part of the programme curriculum. The grades obtained in these subjects do not count towards the Master's average grade for graduation.
You will be able to enrol in your Master’s degree programme after you pass all the exams of your single courses:
- If you make up for your unfulfilled curricular requirements during the Winter examination session, you will be allowed to enrol in the Master’s degree programme you have chosen starting from second semester. The enrolment deadline is 28 March 2025. When all grades of your single courses are recorded in your transcript, you need to contact the Student Careers Unit using the Ticketing Support System to close your position as a "student enrolled in single courses" and you will be able to complete your enrolment in your Master’s degree programme.
- If you do NOT pass all the exams of your single courses by March, you will NOT be able to enrol in a Master's degree programme for a.y. 2024/25 a.y. In any case, you will have the possibility to sit the exams until the last examination session of the year (September 2025);
- Enrolment in single courses is valid for one academic year only. For this reason, if you do not pass all the exams of your single courses by September 2025, you will have to apply again for Master's admission (from the Teaching Portal – Apply@polito portlet - using your ID and credentials of student enrolled in single courses). You will have to wait for the evaluation of the Academic Advisor.
PLEASE NOTE: If you have been denied admission to a Master’s degree programme due to your unfulfilled academic requirements but you have not enrolled in single courses by 28 March 2025, you are NOT allowed to enrol in single courses for other resons (such as “for open competitive exams, professional updating and requalification”) selecting the courses of the Master’s degree programme you have applied for.
After completing the enrolment process, you must create your Annual Personal Study Plan and your Personal Study Plan within 10 days of the date of enrolment.
If you do not have the required English language certificate - B2 level - on the closing date for enrolment in first semester, you can purchase the first-semester courses offered in Year 1 of the Master's degree programme you are interested in (enrolment in single courses).
To enrol in single courses you need to:
- submit the application for admission to the Master's degree programme you are interested in;
- meet the following admission requirements: suitable academic performance + curricular requirements;
- have already earned your Bachelor's degree;
- meet the deadline for enrolment in single courses.
IMPORTANT: Enrolment in single courses for unfulfilled language requirements is permitted exclusively in first semester. As a student enrolled in single courses, you will be able to take the IELTS exam (English language certificate) in the sessions organized by the University Language Center (CLA) at a reduced cost.
Remember: if you are going to get your language certificate by 30/11/2024, you do not need to enrol in single courses. In this case, you can enrol directly in your Master's degree programme in first semester.
Fees and payment methods
For fees and payment methods, please read the Tuition Fee Regulations for a.y. 2024/25

- Go to the Single Courses section: you will see the list of all first-semester courses offered in Year 1 by all the specialist pathways of the Master's degree programme you have chosen (please see the course catalogue of your programme published on the website). You do not need to select all the courses, but only the courses that you want to attend. Do not forget that after completing the enrolment process, you will not be able to include in your APSP the first-semester courses that you have not purchased during this phase, except for the courses that can be taken before the course is offered / delivered.(these courses will be marked in the course catalogue)
- Select your courses, save the list and submit your request from the SAVE and SUBMIT section.
- Complete your enrolment from the Evaluations section and pay the required amount.

If you do not get your language certificate by 28 March 2025, you will not be allowed to enrol in any Master's degree programme for academic year 2024/25. Your enrolment in single courses (exclusively first-semester courses already present in your Annual Personal Study Plan) will remain valid for the entire academic year (2024/25) until the end of the Autumn exam session.
PLEASE NOTE: If you have been denied admission to a Master’s degree programme due to your unfulfilled language requirements and you do not get your language certificate by 28 March 2025, you will NOT be allowed to enrol in single courses for other reasons (such as “for open competitive exams, professional updating and requalification”) selecting the courses of the Master’s degree programme you have applied for. |

If you are enrolled in a Master’s degree programme at Politecnico di Torino and you intend to apply for an internal transfer to another Master’s degree programme offered by our University, you need to submit your request before the DEADLINES and comply with the following requirements:
- curricular requirements (for applicants with a non-Italian Bachelor's degree: the verification of the admission requirements is carried out in advance by the Academic Advisor of the programme. In case of approval, the Academic Advisor will decide on the recognition of the credits that you earned during a previous Master's degree programme – credit transfer);
- language requirements: students with a non-Italian Bachelor's degree who intend to transfer to an Italian-taught programme must have an Italian language certificate.
IMPORTANT: if you are going to apply for an internal transfer, you MUST NOT create your Personal Study Plan / Annual Personal Study Plan for the new academic year until you accept or reject the internal transfer.
Therefore, first of all, you must request the internal transfer. You can do it also during the Autumn examination session (and you can normally take your exams at the same time). When all your exams have been recorded in your transcript, you can accept/reject the internal transfer and later you can create your Personal Study Plan/ Annual Personal Study Plan.
How to request an internal transfer:
- log in to your personal page of the Teaching Portal;
- select the Online Services tab - Apply@polito portlet;
- select the Master's degree programme you want to transfer to from the section "Select your programme" (you are allowed to select only one Master's degree programme);
- confirm your data and submit your internal transfer request (students with a non-Italian Bachelor's degree must apply as indicated on the website https://didattica.polito.it/inte/en/apply_msc_step1 and pay online the non-refundable amount of € 20. Online payment by credit cards on the PagoPA platform);
- wait for the outcome of the evaluation of your previous academic records – you can check this result in the Evaluations section available on your Apply@polito personal page;
- if your internal transfer is accepted, you will see the list of the exams that have been recognized (if you do not want to accept the validation of a specific exam, click X). You can now accept or reject the internal transfer.
PLEASE NOTE: if you are still waiting for some grades to be recorded in your transcript (for example, exams taken in the September session), you must wait until all your exam grades have been recorded before confirming your internal transfer.
We remind you that you can accept/reject your internal transfer also after the closing date for the creation of the PSP/APSP.
If you accept/reject your internal transfer during the time frame for the creation of the PSP/APSP, you are required to create your PSP/APSP by the standard deadline.
If you accept/reject your internal transfer after the closing date for the creation of the PSP/APSP, you are required to create the PSP/APSP within 10 days from the date of acceptance.
Please note that you will be charged the cost of the internal transfer application (50 Euro) if you do not confirm your transfer after seeing the results of the evaluation of your previous academic records.
We remind you that you cannot request an internal transfer during your first year.
If you are enrolled in a Master’s degree programme at another Italian university and you intend to transfer to a Master’s degree programme at Politecnico di Torino, you must submit your previous academic records for an evaluation through the Apply@polito platform.
Your previous academic records will be assessed in order to verify if you meet the admission requirements of our Master’s degree programmes and to decide on the possible recognition of the credits that you have already earned (credit transfer).
Please follow the steps below:
1) APPLICATION SUBMISSION (see the specific section).
2) EVALUATION OF PREVIOUS ACADEMIC RECORDS
- wait for the evaluation of your previous academic records (conducted by the Academic Advisor of the degree programme) with the possible recognition of previously earned credits. The results of this evaluation will be available on your Apply@polito personal page – Evaluations section. The number of credits that can be recognized will be visible only after the conclusion of the evaluation process;
- wait until you receive an offer of admission from Politecnico before submitting your transfer out application to your current university. Your current university will send the Transfer Out Clearance Form to Politecnico di Torino. Upon reception of this document, our offices will check your previous data and enable your enrolment
3) ENROLMENT AND CREATION OF THE PERSONAL STUDY PLAN AND ANNUAL PERSONAL STUDY PLAN: (please see the Student Guide – Creating your APSP/PSP)
IMPORTANT Before starting any transfer process at your current university, you should consider two different options:
- transfer (congedo): this option is suggested if you have already passed some exams for which you intend to request credit transfer. In this case, the year of your first enrolment is the year when you enrolled in the Italian university system for the first time (years spent at your current university are calculated for your learning path at Politecnico);
- or else, withdrawal from studies (rinuncia agli studi): this is suggested if you have not taken any exam yet or just a few of them. After withdrawing from your current university, you will be able to enrol as a first-year Master's student at Politecnico di Torino (years spent at your current university are not calculated for your learning path at Politecnico).
We remind you that:
- You are required to pay a fee (100 euro) for the evaluation of your academic records. This amount will be deducted from your tuition fees if you enrol in the academic year for which you had submitted your application, but cannot be refunded in other cases.
- If you come from another university you must earn a minimum of 50 credits (excluding the thesis credits) at Politecnico di Torino in order to earn your Master’s degree.
- Transfers are possible only between Italian universities.
To enrol in a Master’s degree programme at Politecnico and obtain the recognition of your previously earned credits (credit transfer), you need to have one of the following degrees:
- Master’s degree - Laurea Magistrale D.M. 270/04
- Laurea Specialistica D.M. 509/99
- Five-year degree - Laurea quinquennale ordinamento previgente D.M. 509/99.
If you have one of the above-mentioned degrees, you are required to submit your previous academic records for an evaluation through the Apply@polito platform by the deadlines.
Your previous academic records will be assessed in order to:
- verify if you meet the admission requirements of the Master’s degree programme you have chosen, i.e.:
- suitable academic performance
- curricular requirements
- language requirements
- verify if your previously earned credits can be recognized (credit transfer).
You are required to pay 100 Euro for the evaluation of your previous academic records. This amount is due also if you have studied at Politecnico.
You must earn a minimum of 50 credits (excluding the thesis credits) at Politecnico di Torino in order to get your Master’s degree. The outcome of the evaluation will be available on the Apply@polito platform – Evaluations section.
Credit transfer after withdrawal/forfeiture If you have withdrawn from Politecnico or if you have been declared forfeited at Polito or at another Italian university, you can request the recognition of your previously earned credits when you enrol in a Master's degree programme at Polito. |
