Below are the rules for enrolment in the Master's degree programme in Digital skills for sustainable societal transitions for applicants coming from other universities.

If you meet the curricular requirements, we will verify if your academic performance is suitable for admission in the following ways:

1. Verification of the weighted average of all grades
2. Admission test (Interview)

1. Verification of the weighted average of all grades

Applicants from other universities (not Università degli Studi di Torino)

You must have a weighted average grade equal to or greater than 25/30, regardless of how may years it took you to graduate. The weighted average is calculated on all credits with a grade in thirtieths acquired and useful for a first degree with the exclusion of the worst 28 credits, without any rounding.

Applicants fromUniversità degli studi di Torino

The following applicants can be admitted to our Master's degree programmes:

- time to graduation is equal to or lower than 4 years (1) regardless of the weighted average grade

- time to graduation is greater than 4 years but lower than or equal to 5 years (1) with weighted average grade equal to or greater than 24/30

- time to graduation is greater than 5 years with weighted average grade(2) equal to or greater than 25/30

In case of career shortening, the calculation of the years must be increased in proportion to the number of validated credits (10-60 credits = 1 year, etc.). The worst 28 credits must be subtracted proportionally to the number of recognized credits.

(1) The last useful session to meet the average requirement is the December graduation session.

(2) The weighted average is obtained from the sum (marks x credits) / sum of credits and is calculated on all credits with a grade in thirtieths acquired and useful for a first degree with the exclusion of the worst 28 credits, without any rounding.

2. Admission test (Interview)

For all students who do not meet the required curricular requirements (verification of the weighted average grade), there is an interview to verify their personal preparation.

The outcome of the admission test will be announced on the personal page of the APPLY@polito platform.

Enrolment

Your offer of admission is only valid for the academic year in which you submitted your application. This means that if you are admitted to the programme but you eventually do not enrol, you will have to submit your application through the Apply@polito platform again for admission and pass the admission test in future academic years.

The course credits from the scientific-disciplinary fields in both the first group and the second group are counted in priority towards meeting the requirement for the first group. The remaining credits are counted towards meeting the requirement of the second group. The credits of a teaching course may then be counted towards meeting the minimum number of credits in both groups.

Within the limit of 10 cfu the Course Coordinator may admit the candidate; if the number of missing credits is higher than 10 cfu the evaluation will be submitted to the final approval of the Course Coordinator or Vice-Coordinator.

Applications from graduates or students coming from degree programmes of another class will be subject to evaluation. In the event that curricular requirements are not met, curricular additions will be identified.

Any curricular integrations identified by the evaluator must be filled prior to enrolment in the Master's degree programme.

In order to make up the curricular integration, in the event that it is less than or equal to 60 credits, the candidate must enrol in the single courses for unfulfilled academic requirements and subsequently attend the courses and sit the relative exams: this enrolment may only include in the annual personal study plan the courses assigned by the evaluator as an unfulfilled academic requirement.

Successful completion of the admission test will allow, exclusively for candidates who must complete the curricular integration, access also to the academic year following the one for which the admission test was taken (in any case after taking the exams relating to the curricular integration).

certificazione IELTS

It is necessary to possess a B2-level English language proficiency certification, as defined by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

For the purposes of obtaining an English language certificate (B2 level)*, reference is made to the table of certificate or exemptions accepted in substitution for the IELTS 5.5.

* For the purposes of admission to Master's Degree courses, Politecnico does not consider the date of conferral of the certificate is not taken, but only the language level.

Having a B2 English language certificates (IELTS 5.5) is a mandatory requirement for admission to all Master's degree programmes.

Cases of exemption

  • IB Diploma (International Baccalaureate https://www.ibo.org/programmes/diploma-programme/) exclusively if the entire course is in English, with the exception of foreign languages;
  • High school diploma from one of the European Schools listed in Annex 2 of the "Procedures for the entry, stay and enrollment of students applying for visas to higher education courses in Italy," exclusively if language 1 (L1) is English;

  • Qualification, recognized by the Ministry of University and Research as equivalent to the baccalaureate or higher university degree, awarded entirely in English at a high school or college based in the countries listed in Annex A.

When you submit your  application, you must enter the data of your English language certificate. If you do not have it, you can still apply for admission but you will have to present an English language certificate before the deadline for online enrolment.

Verification of IELTS certificates
To verify your IELTS certificates please enter the TRF Number present on the certificate, or reported in the communication email of the publication of the results.

Verification of Cambridge certificates

To verify Cambridge certifications, candidates must select the option to share the test result with the Politecnico di Torino on the Cambridge personal page (instructions at the following link: https://support.cambridgeenglish.org/hc/en-gb/articles/360021664771-Sending-your-results-to-a-recognising-organisation-)  and indicate the Candidate's ID number, or, if this is not possible, they must upload the certification or the Statement of Results in the "Attachments" section of Apply.

In addition, it will be necessary to indicate the Appointment Number. On the Apply@polito platform it is necessary to indicate the Appointment Number. Those who do not indicate through the unique code the Politecnico di Torino will have to attach the scan of the certification to allow for verification.

For all other certifications/exemption cases in the table on the Teaching & Language Center website, it is mandatory to attach the scan of the certificate obtained.

The University also reserves the right to conduct a check on a sample of at least 5 percent of the certificates by requesting the submission of original documentation and also verifying the veracity of such documentation with the Providers.
Given the long waiting time for receipt of the original certification, we recommend obtaining the certification in a timely manner to meet the deadlines.

Please note that English language exams and proficiencies passed at other universities are NOT considered a substitute for the required language certification.

Those who will not be in possession of the language requirement by the deadline for matriculation from the 1st teaching period will be able to enroll in single courses by entering the courses of the 1st semester of the 1st year of the master's degree program for which they have been rated "rejected" due to the lack of the language requirement.

By enrolling in single courses, it will also be possible to take advantage of the IELTS sessions organized by the Teaching & Language Center, which involve payment of a reduced amount compared to that provided by other external bodies.

As soon as the English language proficiency certification is obtained, it will be possible to matriculate for the Master's Degree by March 4, 2024, with ex officio validation of the courses attended/passed. The teachings of the 1st p.d. that were not included at the time of enrollment cannot be supplemented later.
