5 CFU (54 hours)
Teachers: prof. Lorenzo Corti, Giuseppe Ferrari, Raimondo Magrì, Lisa Farina, Gabriele Carpineta.
LEARNING CONTENTS PRESENTATION
Based on the concepts illustrated in the previous Multipurpose lifecycle well architecture topic, this course shows advanced completion techniques, with particular focus on sub-sea environment, in-well equipment installation and technology to optimize injection and production, sand control and hydraulic operations, to increase the life of the well. Both theoretical lessons and practical exercises will be proposed.
EXPECTED LEARNING OUTCOMES
Aim of the course is to provide the students with knowledge about the workflow and rules to be followed to carry out the planning of a well completion (land or subsea, natural flow or artificially lifted) for hydrocarbon exploration and development. Moreover, the course provides the knowledge of Sand Control Technology and Hydraulic fracturing Technology. At the end of the course the students will possess the main theoretical information required for working as completion & production optimization engineer.
PROGRAMME
The main subjects of this course are:
- Artificial Lift
- Subsea Completion
- Sand Control
- Hydraulic Fracturing
TEACHING METHODOLOGY
The course includes theoretical lessons and practical exercises, with the aim to clarify the workflows and to show applications of theoretical models to real cases.
