WeAreHERe is a Politecnico’s project to encourage girls to enrol in STEM university programes and debunk the gender stereotypes that still influence the choice of a study path considered “for boys”.
The acronym STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, and is a term used to refer to science-technology disciplines. According to official UNESCO data from 2014 - 2016, only 8% of female students choose to study engineering.
WeAreHERe is a network of women at Politecnico composed of female students, technicians and lecturers who work every day to promote the enrolment of girls in engineering programmes.
