Below are the rules for enrolling in Master's degree courses in Urban and Territorial Planning for those coming from another university.

In order to apply for a Master's degree course, it is necessary to register and complete the online application form using the Apply procedure.

It will be possible to apply for a maximum of two Master's degree programmes

Please note that, in the event of eligibility for both programmes, enrolment will only be allowed for the Master's degree programme indicated as first choice.

Those who have already acquired no less than 140 credits by July 2023, which is considered the minimum number of credits to assess the university course, may apply.

The deadlines for completing the form can be found in the deadlines section.

Failure to comply with this procedure and the relevant deadlines will result in automatic exclusion from access to the Master's degree programmes.

REQUIREMENTS

In order to be admitted to the Master's degree programmes, it is necessary to meet the following requirements

suitable academic performance
curricular requirements
language requirements

Informal university career assessments will not be carried out.

In order to proceed with enrolment in Master's degree programme, it is necessary to be in possession of a Bachelor's degree or a three-year university diploma or another qualification obtained abroad and recognised as suitable.

Enrolment on the Master's degree programme in Urban and Regional Planning is permitted for both the 1st and the 2nd semester, respecting the deadlines and requirements for access.

Those who have obtained a Bachelor's degree from other universities are required to have a weighted average(1) of examinations equal to or greater than 24/30 regardless of the period taken to obtain the degree.
Successful completion of the admission test (interview) is also required.

The result of the admission test will be published on the personal page of the APPLY procedure.

(1) The weighted average is calculated on all credits with a grade in thirtieths acquired and useful for the achievement of the Bachelor's degree, excluding the worst 28 credits, without any rounding.

Enrolment

Those who have obtained eligibility and do not proceed with enrolment for a Master's degree programme in the academic year for which they have applied for admission must re-apply through the Apply procedure for access in following academic years and take the admission test again.

Curricular requirements are verified through the Apply procedure.

Curricular requirements for admission to the Master's degree course are the possession of a degree or three-year university diploma or other qualification obtained abroad deemed suitable pursuant to Art. 6 c.2 of Italian Ministerial Decree 270/04, the skills and knowledge acquired in the Bachelor's degree programme of origin expressed in the form of credits referring to specific scientific-disciplinary sectors or groups thereof.

It is necessary to have acquired a minimum number of credits as specified in the table

Master's degree programme Credits Scientific Disciplinary Fields
URBAN AND TERRITORIAL PLANNING 1st GROUP (minimum 30 CFU) BIO/03, BIO/07, GEO/02, GEO/04, GEO/05, M-GGR/01, M-GGR/02, ING-INF/05, MAT/03, MAT/05, MAT/06, ICAR/06, ICAR/17
2nd GROUP (minimum 60 CFU) AGR/01, AGR/08, GEO/05, ICAR/02, ICAR/03, ICAR/04, ICAR/05, ICAR/15, ICAR/18, ICAR/20, ICAR/21, ICAR/22, ING-IND/11, IUS/10, IUS/14, M-GGR/01, M-GGR/02, M-STO/04, SECS-P/01, SECS-P/06, SECS-S/02, SPS/10, MAT/07, GEO/09, M-STO/02, ING-IND/10

The credits from the scientific-disciplinary fields in both the first group and the second group are counted in priority towards meeting the requirement for the first group. The remaining credits are counted towards meeting the requirement of the second group. The credits from one course may then be counted towards meeting the minimum number of credits from both groups.

If you lack max 10 credits to be admitted to the programme, the Academic Advisor can decide to accept you in any case; if you lack more than 10 credits, your application must be evaluated  by the Coordinator or by the Deputy Coordinator of the Collegio of the Master's degree programme.

Any curricular integrations identified by the evaluator must be filled prior to enrolment in the Master's degree programme.
In order to make up the curricular integration, in the event that it is less than or equal to 60 credits, students must enrol in the single courses for unfulfilled curricular requirements and subsequently attend the courses and sit the relative exams; this enrolment may only include in the annual personal study plan the courses assigned by the evaluator as a unfulfilled academic requirement.

Passing the admission test (interview) will allow, exclusively for those who have to complete the curricular integration, access also to the academic year following the one for which the admission test was taken (in any case after passing the exams relating to the curricular integration).

Given the long waiting time for receipt of the original certification, we recommend obtaining the certification in a timely manner to meet the deadlines.

Politecnico also reserves the right to carry out a check on a sample of at least 5% of the certifications by requesting the submission of the original documentation and also verifying the truthfulness of this documentation with the granting bodies.

As soon as the English language proficiency certification is obtained, it will be possible to matriculate for the Master's Degree by March 4, 2024, with ex officio validation of the courses attended/passed.
