Glaciers and Alpine Snowfields: Monitoring and Conservation, Impact on Water Resources, and Territorial Adaptation

Water is a precious resource, essential for multiple purposes, and its availability impacts territorial activities not only through its spatial distribution but also through its variations over time, whether seasonal or long-term.
In the Alpine region, glaciers and snowfields play a crucial role in the water supply of downstream areas due to the volumes of water they release in spring and summer.
How is the ongoing climate change, remarkable for the rapidity of the variations it causes, affecting Alpine glaciers and snowfields? What consequences for territorial activities are visible today? What should we expect in the near future? These are natural and pressing questions.
On the occasion of World Water Day and World Glacier Day, the proposed seminar aims to be a moment of discussion and training, bringing together universities, research institutions, professionals, public administration, companies, and managing entities to reflect on the monitoring and conservation of Alpine glaciers and snowfields, their territorial impact, and their future.

Participation Information

Registration is required by March 18, 2025, via this link (Google Form).
The number of available seats is limited by the venue's capacity; 30 seats are reserved for members of the Italian Hydrotechnical Association (A.I.I.) who register within the deadline.
A.I.I., a CFP credit provider for Engineers, has requested the allocation of 5 CFPs for engineers attending the seminar.

Participation also grants 0.625 SDAF 08 CFPs for Agronomists and Foresters, according to the professional training regulations approved by Council Resolution No. 162 of April 27, 2022. For other professional orders, please contact your respective organization.
