Technology, Sustainability, Peace

Three words that are often discussed: Technology, Sustainability, Peace is the title of the seminar that will engage the perspectives and experiences of experts from various fields on interconnected themes that are pioneers of innovation and the future.

Engineers, architects, designers, and planners will comprise the panel of speakers who will, on this occasion, discuss how they serve Sustainable Development Goal 16 of the 2030 Agenda: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions.

The event will be introduced and moderated by:
  • Viviana Molaschi, Professor at the Department of Management and Production Engineering (DIGEP) of the Polytechnic University of Turin
  • Walter Franco, Professor at the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (DIMEAS) of the Polytechnic University of Turin
The following presentations will then take place:
  • Disarmed Technologies: Industrial Policies for Peace
  • Enzo Ferrara from the Sereno Regis Studies Center
  • Architecture for Change: Experiences Amidst Challenges and Resources
  • Valerio Cottino, Annalisa Mosetto, and Ilaria Cannatà from Architects without Borders Piemonte
  • Challenges and Virtuous Experiences in Northern Uganda in a Post-War Context
  • Andrea Baggio, Amarilli Varesio, and Marcello Rava from Engineers without Borders and Baiskeli
The session will proceed with a debate and finally conclude with remarks by:
  • Caterina Mele, Professor at the Department of Structural, Building, and Geotechnical Engineering (DISEG) of the Politecnico di Torino
