Networks of Networks for Local Food Policies: The "Punto al Cibo" Movement in Turin
The meeting discusses the emerging importance of urban food movements in local food policies, connecting to debates on food sovereignty and agroecology.
In a context of increasing global awareness of the challenges of food sustainability, we analyze how "Punto al Cibo" in Turin represents an exemplary case of civil society mobilization for the inclusion and democratization of food governance. With this meeting, we aim to contribute to the debate on strategies to address urban food challenges, highlighting the critical role of collaboration among different actors, including those traditionally marginalized, in building fairer and more sustainable food systems.
Riccardo Bruno, a PhD student in Urban and Regional Development at the Interdepartmental Department of Sciences, Planning, and Territorial Policies, engages in dialogue with Veronica Allegretti, a PhD student in Sociology and Methodology of Social Research at the University of Turin.
