Politecnico di Torino joins in M'illumino di meno

Once again this year, the Politecnico is joining "M'illumino di meno", the historic initiative promoted by Rai Radio2's Caterpillar program to spread the culture of environmental sustainability and resource conservation.

Taking up the stimulus that comes from the coordinators of the Energy Working Group of the RUS - Network of Universities for Sustainable Development, of which the Politecnico holds the coordination, on the evening of Thursday, Feb. 16, the University will symbolically turn off all the lights at its historic headquarters, the Castello del Valentino, to raise awareness of the need to reduce environmental impact.

During the same week - Feb. 13 to 17, 2023 - the Politecnico di Torino will also participate in the second edition of Green Food Week, proposed by the school canteen observatory Foodinsider, joining many canteens of Italian schools, universities and companies to promote sustainability and resource conservation through the reduction and - where and when possible - the elimination of meat from menus, contributing concretely to limit the waste of resources such as water and soil and to reduce the emission of greenhouse gases: on February 16, the Politecnico will offer exclusively meat-free meals in its canteens for a meat-free day.

Check out the attached menus to learn about the alternatives to meat offered by food services in the University.
