The Care of Water. Politics and Poetics of Water Management in Times of Drought
Ongoing climate change is affecting our environment and daily lives in various ways. One of the most visible aspects concerns the presence of water, which, due to altered hydrological cycles, fluctuates between excess and scarcity.
This conversation focuses on the latter: drought. Drought as an issue tackled by those who manage water, whether professionals—such as companies in charge of water supply systems—or communities.
Water management during times of drought will be explored from different disciplinary perspectives, intersecting around the consideration of management practices and their memory, reflecting on current technological solutions as well as turning back to traditional methods.
This reflection will also lead us to ask: What is drought? For whom? And based on which infrastructures?
