Corporate Relations and Valorisation of Research Division

The Division acts as an engine for activating opportunities for collaboration with companies, stimulating and directing the demand of companies and organisations, promoting knowledge sharing between different scientific-technological fields and attracting funding for innovation. It facilitates relations with external stakeholders and the industrial fabric in order to enhance the University's competences, by promoting a proactive approach to collaboration opportunities at a local level, also with a multidisciplinary view. It supports the creation of structured and ongoing relations with companies (partnership agreements, shared infrastructures, PhD programmes funding). Staff in this Division are responsible for defining strategies for the protection of research results and their subsequent valorisation through entrepreneurial initiatives (spin-offs) or commercial exploitation in collaboration with companies (licensing and/or transfer)

Relations with Companies Unit

Head of Unit

The Unit liaises with companies, organisations and institutions interested in collaborating with our university and supports teaching staff and researchers in their relations. It carries out marketing actions, provides services to companies and the follow-up of strategic agreements.It identifies partners and areas for the development of industrial relations, organises thematic workshops for the matchmaking between the interests of companies and the University's competences and verifies the status of implementation of partnerships and programmes.

Protection of Research Results Unit

The Unit is in charge of the administrative processes for the management and maintenance of the University's patent rights and provides highly specialised support in the field of industrial law and intellectual property.Staff in this Unit are responsible for providing advice to all University departments/divisions/units/offices in matters of industrial law and intellectual property.They manage the procedure for obtaining “Spin-off of the Politecnico di Torino” status and the related monitoring activities.

The Unit is responsible for defining strategies for the protection of research results and their subsequent valorisation through entrepreneurial initiatives (spin-offs) or commercial exploitation in collaboration with companies (licences and/or transfers).The Unit acts as a “bridge” between academic research and the economic fabric (companies and investors), and analyses and promotes various funding tools for strengthening university-business collaboration; it works in collaboration with the I3P business incubator and the various players in the Innovation Ecosystem.
