Mission

The Department is in charge of all University IT services, from design, implementation, to support and life cycle management of the technology system components. The staff in this department design and manage solutions serving workstations and daily activities, for the all Polito Administration and Academic Departments, by providing support and service desk services (ITSM). The Department supports Education, e-Learning, Research and Libraries, HR and Finance, Web, Facility Management, with on premise or cloud solutions (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS). ISIAD is responsible for the supervision and development of collaboration solutions, the Basic Computer Laboratories, WAN and LAN network infrastructures, fixed and mobile telephony, cybersecurity, Datacentres and University storage.In agreement with the University Governance, the Department supervises IT policy and compliance, supports the Digital Transition Manager, the IT Security Coordinator and the Data Protection Officer, in dealing with Digital Transformation processes.Staff in this Department support and collaborates with all departments/offices/units, provide advice and training (within its fields of competence) and promote IT solutions for research and innovation, also supporting academic departments with a focus on scientific computing and HPC.

He supervises user support processes (ITSM), in compliance with the ITIL methodology, by means of first-level Service Desk. He deals with the ticket management and tracking, incident resolution and collects requests, monitoring service levels and managing Pingdom probes for the control of the main online services. He drafts the reporting aimed at improving the quality of the IT Services provided and manages the Division on-call management.
