Too Good to Scrap/ Open Days 2026 Edition

Too good to scrap” is a new initiative launched by the Green Team in collaboration with the Direzione Studi, with the aim of reducing waste and making the most of materials that can still be reused.
The initiative forms part of the University’s drive towards more sustainable event organization models, based on reuse and more responsible resource management.

On the occasion of the 2026 Open Days, the initiative aims to encourage the reuse of furniture and exhibition materials that would otherwise be discarded at the end of the event. Following an initial trial during the last edition, this year the project is being expanded to involve the entire University community. In addition to the opportunity for degree programme coordinators to retain the furnishings of their own stands, students, staff and departments can reserve materials that have not yet been requested, including Forex and foam panels, PVC sheets and flag banners. This is a tangible opportunity to breathe new life into existing resources and contribute to waste reduction.

Materials can be booked via the form at the following link: https://www.eventbrite.it/e/too-good-to-scrap-edizione-salone-dellorientamento-polito-tickets-1985049548636?aff=oddtdtcreator

Collection of the materials is scheduled for Monday 30 March at the Open Days venues:
· from 10 am to 12 pm at the Central Campus, R lecture theatres, Via Borsellino 53
· from 11 am to 12 pm at the Castello del Valentino, Sala delle Colonne, Viale P.R. Andrea Mattioli 39

The materials are made available to the entire community with no restrictions on use: they can be reused for educational activities and exercises (design workshops, models, prototypes, etc.) or for personal use, for example as interior design elements. If you can, show your creations on socialmedia with the hashtag #toogodtoscrapPoliTO and
