Politecnico di Torino has among its key priorities to nurture talented researchers, especially young researchers, in the design and development of highly innovative research projects, to enhance relationships with the international research world and to attract international researchers. Politecnico has recently approved the actions designed to support high quality and multidisciplinary research in order to enhance the internationalization of the scientific community, to encourage the participation of the best researchers in important programmes dedicated to frontier research like the European Research Council and to disseminate research results.
In 2013 the European Commission awarded Politecnico di Torino with the label HR Excellence in Research, recognizing its committment in offering researchers from all over the world a positive environment, where personal inclinations can find space and grow. Furthermore, the European Commission launched a "Call for expressions of interest" to create a roster of candidates who can be hired by research institutions, in particular within the Joint Research Center.
Politecnico di Torino also offers its Ph.D. candidates advice through our Career services.
For this purpose, we suggest MyDocPro, designed by the French Ministry of Education, a self-evaluation tool for Ph.D. candidates and Ph.D. holders working in any scientific field. Ph.D. candidates/holders receive support to highlight the strenghts acquired during the academic path: a better awareness about one’s own skills may lead to further job opportunities, both for academic and company positions.
