Selection notice for a graduation award in memory of Matteo Cazzola – year 2025
The Politecnico di Torino, following a request from Pietro Fiorentini S.p.A., announces a graduation award in memory of Matteo Cazzola. The award aims to recognize and support Master's theses focused on scientific or engineering projects that explore or develop innovative solutions to enhance natural resource utilization, decarbonization, and environmental, social, and economic sustainability.
Matteo Cazzola, Energy Manager at Pietro Fiorentini S.p.A. in Arcugnano (VI), graduated in Energy Engineering from the University of Padua and earned an MBA from CUOA. He passed away on March 31, 2023, at the age of 35 due to an avalanche during a mountaineering trip in Norway.
Matteo was a manager specializing in projects to reduce industrial energy waste and develop hydrogen as a clean energy source. He was deeply passionate about climate change, renewable energy, and environmental protection.
The award amounts to €2,500 gross for the recipient, net of charges borne by the university.

- Have obtained a Master's degree from the Politecnico di Torino in Chemical and Sustainable Process Engineering (LM-22), Energy and Nuclear Engineering (LM-30), or Management Engineering (LM-31) between July 31, 2023, and December 31, 2024.
- Have completed a Master's thesis related to "Energy transition and renewable energy sources, particularly biogas, biomethane, and hydrogen, also considering Life Cycle Assessment."
