Culture and Sustainability: Strategies and Proposals for Green Events
The Politecnico di Torino is taking part in the initiative launched by the Università degli Studi di Urbino Carlo Bo, under the patronage of Sustainable Development Solutions Network Italy and in collaboration with local authorities and private partners, dedicated to promoting sustainable practices in the organization of cultural events.
The initiative includes two meetings, open to university staff and the wider community, aimed at sharing tools and good practices for the design of low-impact cultural events.
6 November 2025 – Workshop
Aula Magna, Rector’s Office, Urbino
The workshop “Sustainable Events. Models and Proposals” will open with institutional greetings delivered by Patrizia Lombardi, member of the Coordination Committee of the Rete delle Università per lo Sviluppo Sostenibile and co-chair of Sustainable Development Solutions Network Italy.
This will be followed by several contributions, including one from the Politecnico di Torino, presenting “Event Checklist: A Participatory Process”, a methodological proposal for integrating sustainability criteria into the planning and management of cultural events. Speakers: Paola Biglia, Benedetta Pisani and Angelo Nonelli.
7 November 2025 – Technical Roundtable
Gino Girolomoni Cooperative, Isola del Piano
The second day will be dedicated to a technical roundtable focused on the exchange of experiences and the sharing of best practices among universities, local institutions and cultural organizations.
Both events are free and open to the public.
