10 theses for sustainability - Award ceremony
The "10 Theses for Sustainability" is promoted by the Symbola Foundation, Luiss, and Unioncamere with the support of Deloitte Climate & Sustainability, in collaboration with the inter-university consortium Almalaurea, RUS - Network of Universities for Sustainable Development, and INSTM - National Interuniversity Consortium for Science and Technology of Materials, and under the patronage of CRUI - Conference of Italian University Rectors and the Ministry of University and Research.
The success of the call exceeded expectations, with 2,062 applications received from over 80 universities across Italy. This reflects the younger generation's sensitivity to sustainability issues in a broad sense and highlights the wealth of intelligence and expertise in academia—talents that Italy can harness in the challenge to build a more human-centered economy and society, capable of facing the future.
As specified in the call, the evaluation process involved two phases: a Technical Committee composed of 22 universities participating in the initiative, which selected the 100 most deserving theses, and a Scientific Committee chaired by Professor Severino and Professor Zamagni, tasked with choosing the 10 winners. This significant and demanding task naturally required several months.
The selection has been completed, and the results will be communicated privately in the coming weeks and made public during the award ceremony, which will take place in Rome at the Luiss headquarters on the morning of Thursday, October 10, at 11:00 am.
Given the quality of the work and the high standard of submissions, in addition to the 10 winners who will receive the monetary prize, we have decided to award a Certificate of Merit to the 90 non-winning theses. These certificates will be presented during the ceremony.
