The Division represents the University's organisational and management system supporting the activities of the Fire Safety Management Coordinator (CGSA). By official rule, the role of the Head of Division is assigned to the Coordinator of the Fire Safety Management Unit (CGSA) appointed by the Rector, as the person responsible for the activity, pursuant to the Ministerial Decree of 3 August 2015. The CGSA is responsible for ensuring, over time, an adequate level of safety for the University in a fire event. The Division manages fire safety adaptation and maintenance of University facilities and implements the control and maintenance of fire-fighting systems and equipment on the basis of CGSA's provisions. It also ensures the drafting and updating of emergency plans, and it is in charge of the emergency management measures arrangement.

Fire Prevention Planning Unit

The Unit supports the Fire Safety Management Coordinator (GCSA) in the preparation of the Fire Safety Management System (SGSA). It manages the procedures aimed at acquiring and maintaining the authorization practices issued by firefighters of the University Offices. It supervises the activities related to the presence assessment and fire risk in collaboration with the Prevention and Protection Division, identifying the fire prevention measures that are mandatory for the activity execution. It carries out planning, Project Manager and Works Management activities for the installation/modification of fire prevention systems covering University spaces, in coordination with the Fire Prevention Maintenance Unit.

The Unit supports the Fire Safety Management Coordinator CGSA in the preparation of the Fire Safety Management System (SGSA). It supports the Fire Prevention Planning Unit for the planning and Construction Site Management Unit related to the installation/modification of fire-fighting systems covering University spaces. It supervises and manages the fire-fighting systems installed in University facilities in coordination with the Emergency Management Centre. It supervises the contract performance and the management of works in relation to services and works concerning the maintenance aspects of facilities, equipment and firefighting safeguards. It installs and manages fire-fighting and first aid equipment and emergency signposting.

The Unit supports the Fire Safety Management Coordinator (CGSA) in the preparation of the Fire Safety Management System (SGSA). It defines the Offices emergency plans. It defines the action procedures in emergency conditions and the related methods of information spread to the top management. It draws up the evacuation plans and identifies the relevant signposting. It collaborates with the PROGES Divisions and with the Departments for the conflict evaluation with the emergency and evacuation plans generated by worksites or extraordinary activities. It organizes tests for the implementation of the emergency and evacuation plan. It collaborates with the Prevention and Protection Division for the identification and training of the Emergency Team Members.
