The Division is responsible for supporting the Employer and the University's RSPP (Health and Safety Officer) in assessing risks in all the University workplaces. It develops prevention and protection measures, manages fulfilments related to occupational health, proposes and implements health and safety at work staff training and information. Staff manages worker training programmes pursuant to Art. 37 of Legislative Decree 81/08 and organises their provision. In collaboration with the Fire Safety Management Division, it organises the emergency team members training. It also manages the collection and arrangement of the safety organisation charts of the various University Offices.

He ensures the planning and implementation of training programs pursuant to art. 37 Legislative Decree 81/08, related to mandatory courses on Health and safety at work and specific activities that can be carried out by workers at the Politecnico di Torino (forklift drivers, first aid and fire-fighting personnel, crane operators, etc.).

He is in charge of the following activities: implementing the principles and management methods of the Safety Management System (UNI ISO 45001) in the Politecnico di Torino activities, in support of the Central Administration Services, the Health and Safety Officer (RSPP), and other university Offices; creating and supervising synergistic mechanisms on health and safety issues involving the Health and Safety Officer (RSPP) and the Department, particularly during the creation of new laboratories/infrastructures or the renovation of existing ones; supervising contractual documentation related to health and safety issues, in connection with scientific/educational collaborations with external entities; supporting the definition and management of safety-related issues such as: regulations, document management systems, safety organization charts, and specific training, in coordination with the Senior Domain Expert in Security Training.

Staff in this Unit are in charge of the process of risk assessment and definition of prevention and protection measures: they draft specific documents and DVRs, as well as guidelines and operating procedures. The Unit carries out environmental measurement campaigns, workplace monitoring and supervises the health surveillance process.

Domain Expert

The objective of this assignment is to prepare, by means of calculations or measurements, the technical organisational and procedural actions so that those who use: laser sources, incoherent optical radiation, electric, magnetic and electromagnetic fields, are not exposed to values exceeding the limits. The required actions are set out in technical reports accompanying the Risk Assessment Document.
