Stracci - Screening of the movie in occasion of M'illumino di meno 2025
In Prato, the recycling of wool garments and their regeneration into fiber is an ancient and shared tradition. A forerunner of the concept of sustainability and circularity, it has managed to create wealth in the region from what others discarded. The so-called "rags" are an inexhaustible resource and serve as the starting point for this journey around the world, exploring the impact of excessive consumerism and the throwaway culture typical of Fast Fashion on the planet.
Through expert testimonies, the documentary "Stracci" by Tommaso Santi from 2022 highlights the aspects of a serious environmental issue which, if properly addressed by producers, consumers, and governments, could represent a real opportunity for a new, economically sustainable fashion industry.
The screening takes place as part of the XXI edition of M'illumino di Meno, the Energy Saving and Sustainable Lifestyles Day launched by the Rai Radio2 program Caterpillar, which will be held from Sunday, February 16, to Friday, February 21.
The documentary will be shown in Italian (original language) with English subtitles. The entrance is free up until full capacity.
