The Division organizes the University libraries, supervises the updating, development, management, preservation, and promotion of bibliographic materials. It manages the acquisition and access to electronic resources to support teaching, research and third mission activities.Staff here are in charge of the library services to be provided to the public, of the digitisation of the historical and valuable bibliographic heritage, of the development of projects for the University libraries.It supervises "Open Science" - Open Access, manages the archiving and the “formal validation” of research works in the Institutional Repository “Porto@Iris” as well as the publication rights and copyright issuesStaff here are in charge of handling and planning initiatives to support and promote reading, books and scientific information.They cooperate with the units/departments/divisions in charge as for procurement planning and budgeting.

She is in charge of the digitisation of ancient, rare and valuable bibliographic material located in the University libraries, as well as of the "DIGIT" digital archive in liason with the ISIAD DepartmentShe support the Head of Division and the Executive in developing projects for the enhancement of the University's library material, as well as in the participation in digitisation projects with external bodies.She cooperates with the Communication and Relations with Media Division in the implementation of content for the University Libraries' web pages and social networks.

MAURO PASCHETTA

He provides technical aid for Open Access publication in compliance with the University Policy and for archiving research products in Institutional Repository “Porto@Iris”. He assists authors with copyright management and intellectual property issues in the context of Open Access.He supervises national and international initiatives in the field of Open Science.He cooperates with the Communication and Relations with Media Division for the implementation of the content of the University Libraries' web pages and social networks.

The Unit is in charge of the reading/borrowing/lending services, the acquisition, cataloguing and classification of bibliographic materials. It manages the document delivery and interlibrary loan services as well.Staff in this Unit take care of the usability, accessibility and safety of the reading rooms.They manage and launch initiatives to support and promote reading and the University Libraries' web and social content, in liaison with the Communication and Media Relations Division.
