Building Heritage Development Division

Staff in this Division ensure the implementation of building development and new construction, renovation, adaptation, restoration of existing buildings, as well as the acquisition of new buildings. They work in close synergy with the Risk assessment and workplace safety supervision Division as for retrofitting of existing buildings in accordance with the Risk Assessment Template, as well as cooperating with the Building heritage conservation/buildings conservation Division in relation to technical support aspects and official authorizations.

Construction Site Management Unit

This Unit ensures the control of the external and internal Works Management, together with the control of the work of the site inspectors, operations managers, the control of accounting documents and the verification of the work carried out, for all building, plant and energy works.Staff in this Unit work with the Maintenance Unit as well as with the Workplace risk assessment and management Unit.

Architectural, Structural and Plant Design Unit

Head of Unit

Staff in this Unit are in charge of the following activities: architectural, structural and plant design, new construction, renovation and restoration of buildings, and assist external professionals in the process, as well. Staff are responsible of technical/economic drawings for the design of teaching/learning, administrative and research spaces and also provide technical support in the case of new building acquisitions, in coordination with Senior domain expert in Management of procurement, design and verification information processes, as well as with the Safety supervision and Maintenance Units.

Technical Support Unit

Head of Unit

This Unit is in charge of the technical activities aimed at obtaining authorizations in accordance to the law in force. Staff in this Unit is in charge of authorizations for the seismic and structural verification of buildings, characterization plans for polluted sites, the overcoming of architectural barriers and the control of environmental parameters, acoustic verification of buildings, and authorizations for the logistical management of construction sites. Staff provide technical support to the RUPs (persons responsible for the contracting procedure) during the control, verification, validation steps of the administrative procedures. Staff in this Unit works in synergy with the Fire Prevention Unit.
