The University promotes the culture of sustainability through different types of actions, both aimed at its own internal community and at the local and territorial community. Through the line of action dedicated to education, the dissemination of the culture of the SDGs is supported in the University and through the strengthening of local, national and international collaboration networks on sustainability issues and the 2030 Agenda.
Some priority lines of action are identified
- Introduction of the SDGs in teaching, research and third mission activities and their mapping
- Inclusion of sustainable development principles in teaching to create new skills on the subject
- Collaboration with international and national networks through active participation in the exchange of best practices and dissemination of results
- Promoting and organising awareness-raising events on sustainable development with other local universities, local authorities and professional associations
The Politecnico di Torino, stimulated by the GreenTeam, provides a shelf to promote and spread the culture of sustainability through the free exchange of thematic books (essays on sustainability issues).
The first volumes were purchased by the University and the selection of the titles was suggested by the members of the GreenTeam. The rest of the books will be put into the circuit directly by the community.
General rules of the PoliTO Bookcrossing
Who is it aimed at?
The initiative is aimed at the community, in and out Politecnico.
How does it work?
In a special "PoliTO Bookcrossing" shelf you can find (and leave) books dedicated to the theme of sustainability (environmental, social, economic): take one and bring it back after reading it to put it back into circulation!
Spread the word with the hashtag #PoliTOBookcrossing and publish your review on Instagram tagging @politosust
Which books?
You will find (and ask to bring) exclusively essays on sustainability issues. If you want to share your books, remember to only leave quality books that you would like to share with friends, not books that you want to get rid of.
Here you can find the list of books currently in circulation!
Where?
For the initial phase of the initiative, the Bookcrossing PoliTO shelf is positioned at the headquarters in Corso Duca degli Abruzzi 24, main entrance on the left, next to the piano. Use the Bookcrossing PoliTO shelf to take and leave books.
