Mission

In this Office, staff perform cross-cutting activities for all University entities, according to the Director-General’s directions; they manage all procurement/tendering procedures related to public works contracts, supplies and services, also on behalf of the Departments where purchases above the direct contracting threshold are required. Staff assist the RUP (person responsible for the contracting procedure) in the contracting management and provides legal support to the University structures in the field of public contracts: this is also implemented so that our University can participate in tenders issued by other entities. They also deal with the drafting and conclusion of public contracts other than tenders.The Office also supervises purchasing strategies, monitors the performance of the procurement processes and prepares and manages the University's insurance programme.

She supervises the optimization of the University's procurement processes, identifying – through monitoring and analyzing the shared purchasing needs of the University Offices – the product categories in which to activate University Framework Agreements. These agreements help meet the needs of multiple offices and facilitate the resolution of critical issues related to the management of procurement processes within the Departmental Districts by reducing the number of supplier selection processes.

Insurance and Healthcare Staff Unit

The Staff Unit manages the University's insurance policy, and in particular: supports the choice of the contractor and the definition of coverages; manages the settlement of premiums; supports staff and student users in the use of insurance products; issues opinions to the University departments/divisions on insurance implications related to institutional activities; monitors the correct fulfilment of contractual obligations by the insurance companies.

She supervises the day-to-day management of the insurance policy of the whole University staff in the different phases in particular by supporting internal users in the management of relations with insurance companies and in the management of any accidents (personal injuries, damages…); She is the University contact person who liaises with the insurance broker and monitors the correct fulfilment of the contractual obligations by the entrusted companies.
