2026 USTC Future Scientist Exchange Program (USTC FuSEP)  is a six weeks program held from June 22nd to July 30th, 2026 in Hefei, Anhui, China. 

What is the program about?

With the theme of "Science and Technology for a Shared Future", the 2026 FuSEP Summer Research will select excellent students to work on scientific research projects in top-tier research teams supervised by USTC professors for 6 weeks.

Participants are expected to submit a report highlighting their research findings at USTC. Beyond the research experience, the program offers a diverse array of activities, including lectures on academic topics, visits to world-leading national laboratories, tours to Chinese cultural sites, and interactions with USTC student clubs.

Who can apply?

- Full-time registered undergraduates or graduates at your home university during your stay at USTC

- Have completed at least two years of undergraduate studies in the relevant major by the start of this program

- An excellent academic record with demonstrated potential and passion for research

- A good knowledge of English

Shanghai Jiaotong University Global Summer School 2026 - S0210 Exploring AIGC in Cultural and Creative Industry

Exploring AIGC in Cultural and Creative Industry is a comprehensive program designed for international students, focusing on the cutting-edge applications and future trends of generative artificial intelligence (AIGC) technologies in the cultural and creative industries. The curriculum covers modules on scriptwriting and text generation, image and video production, sound creation, and commercialization pathways. Through a combination of theoretical instruction, practical workshops, and in-depth visits to leading cultural and creative enterprises, students will engage in collaborative, international team projects.

This hands-on approach guides them through the entire creative process—from initial concept to final presentation—enabling them to master the use of AIGC for cross-media storytelling and creative expression. The program is designed to holistically enhance students' interdisciplinary innovation capabilities and cross-cultural collaborative competencies in the digital age.

Eligibility

Students from overseas, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Macao must be enrolled as undergraduate or graduate student before applying for this program.

- Students from non-English speaking countries should provide an English language proficiency certification: IELTS (minimum score of 6.0), TOEFL (minimum score of 79), or TOEIC (minimum score of 800). If you are studying in an all-English taught program, you must provide relevant certifications.

- Other prerequisites may be required by each course.

The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) International Summer School (ISS) 2026 is now open for applications!

Apply now and join us at the ISS 2026 for an extraordinary journey that blends academic excellence with cultural discovery! Partner universities are welcome to send exchange students to ISS 2026. Exchange student will be counted as 0.25 FTE each (4 summer students to 1 full year student), and students can also join on a fee-paying basis.

Two Dynamic Sessions 
 

  1. July Session (21 June - 29 July 2026)

Take up to two 3-credit courses (42 contact hours each), taught entirely in English across five academic areas:

  • Environment, Science and Technology
  • Exploring Hong Kong
  • Global Business and Management
  • Society and Human Interaction
  • Understanding China
  • Chinese Language (Putonghua or Cantonese)

COMM3131 Special Topic in Communication Studies I: Online Dating and Hook-up Culture explores online dating and hookup culture from interdisciplinary communication, social, and cultural perspectives. The course covers topics such as online relationship development, motivations for app use, app design, gender dynamics, and queer digital spaces. Students will learn how digital relationships form, understand key theories behind dating app design, identify opportunities and challenges for different users, and develop a responsible approach to using online dating platforms.
 

  1. August Session (3 - 26 August 2026)

Dive into intensive Putonghua training with two 3-credit courses.  Learn practical language skills through engaging lessons and cultural activities that make learning fun and practical.

Marco Polo 3.0: Bridging Wisdom, Co-Creating the Future - 2026 Sino-Italian Summer School at Tongji University

Dates: July 12–25, 2026
Location: Shanghai, China (including a day trip to Suzhou)

Program Overview

The Marco Polo 3.0 Summer School brings together students from Italian universities for a unique academic and cultural experience in China.

Participants will explore Chinese culture, innovation, sustainability, and education through:

  • Expert-led lectures
  • Hands-on workshops
  • Cultural immersion activities
  • Collaborative projects

Students will actively contribute to real-world social innovation projects, gaining insight into global challenges and Chinese solutions.

Program Highlights

The program combines cultural immersion, academic learning, and practical experience. Participants will explore China’s heritage through visits to sites like the Shanghai Museum and Suzhou’s classical gardens, alongside activities such as calligraphy, Tai Chi, and Chinese language learning. 

The academic program features lectures by Tongji professors, while innovation labs like NICE 2035 and Design Harvest offer hands-on project experience. Students will also gain insight into China’s business environment through company visits and engage in collaborative exchange with Tongji peers.

Who Should Apply?

This program is open to undergraduate, master’s, and PhD students from all disciplines.

Ideal candidates are:

  • Passionate about sustainability, design, or social innovation

Note: Knowledge of Mandarin is helpful but not required.
