The C2 component "From Research to Business" of Mission 4 "Education and Research" of the PNRR aims to support investments in R&D, promote innovation and the dissemination of technologies, and strengthen skills by fostering the transition towards a knowledge-based economy. In particular, Investment Line 3.3 "Introduction of innovative PhDs that meet the innovation needs of businesses and promote the hiring of researchers by businesses" aims to increase the pool of human capital engaged in research-oriented activities in programs dedicated to innovative PhDs that meet the innovation needs of businesses through the allocation of 15,000 scholarships over three academic years starting from the 2022/2023 academic year.

With Ministerial Decree no. 352 of April 9, 2022,  the MUR allocated resources to the Polytechnic University of Turin for the activation of 99 PhD scholarships co-financed at 50% by businesses interested in meeting their research and innovation needs. At the end of the selection procedures within the call for the 38th cycle, our University allocated 94 PhD scholarships.

With Ministerial Decree no. 117 of March 2, 2023 the MUR allocated resources to the Polytechnic University of Turin for the activation of 283 PhD scholarships co-financed at 50% by businesses interested in meeting their research and innovation needs. At the end of the selection procedures within the call for the 39th cycle, our University allocated 108 PhD scholarships.

With Ministerial Decree no. 630 of April 24, 2024 the MUR allocated €4,260,000 to the Polytechnic University of Turin from PNRR resources destined for the co-financing of 71 scholarships by businesses interested in meeting their research and innovation needs for three-year PhD programs starting from the 2024/2025 academic year.
