Programme overview
Multi-disciplinarity is the key word for interacting with health staff and for proposing technological solutions for increasingly effective and safe therapies.
Biomedical Engineering is the discipline that uses engineering methodologies and technologies to understand, formalise and resolve medical and biological issues, throught close collaboration with specialists from various sectors: from health staff, to biomedical engineering staff, to specialists of other disciplines like biology.
The goal is to develop skills related to medical devices: design, production, supervising testing and maintenance of devices used within public and/or private health facilities, providing post-sales assistance to the users (medical and nursing staff).
Many people wonder which is the difference between the degree programme in biomedical engineering and the programme in biotechnologies. Well, the degree programme in biomedical engineering is, first of all, an engineering programme, while the degree programme in biotechnologies has a mainly biological framework.
