Biography

Alessandro Cornacchia was born in Castel San Pietro Terme (BO – Italy) on February 1995.
He got his Bachelor’s degree with 110/110 summa cum laude in Computer Engineering in October 2017 at Alma Mater Studiorum – Università di Bologna, carrying out a thesis titled "Monitoring of Inter-Domain Routing", supervised by Prof. Franco Callegati jointly with Sacmi Group.
In July 2020 he graduated in Master Degree in Communication and Computer Networks Engineering from Politecnico di Torino, with a thesis titled “Optimized Flow Scheduling for Low Latency Data Center Networks”.
He’s currently a Ph.D student in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering at the Department of Electronics and Telecommunications (DET) of Politecnico di Torino, under the guidance of Prof. Paolo Giaccone and Prof. Andrea Bianco. In 2022, he worked at KAUST (KSA) as a visiting researcher with Prof. Marco Canini.
In 2013 he received a scolarship for his merits from University of Bologna. In 2019, he was recepient of the talent grant Seeds for the Future from Huawei Italy, dedicated to Italian students graduating in the ICT domain.
His research interests revolve around network programmability and the design of cost-efficient traffic measurement algorithms in data centers.
