Subscription databases

Access to electronic resources by subscription is enabled for addresses within the Politecnico. All the University’s institutional users (lecturers, researchers, technical-administrative staff, PhD students, research assistants, students) can also access the service freely and free of charge from outside by subscribing to the DigProxy service. 

To register, you must fill in the appropriate APPLICATION FORM.

AIDA (Bureau van Dijk database)

Description: Database with financial data and software for the immediate analysis of Italian companies. Aida allows the search, consultation, analysis and processing of economic-financial, master data and commercial information of all joint-stock companies operating in Italy. All data are indexed to facilitate search and comparison functions and are also available in original format.
Contents: For each company, the detailed balance sheet according to the complete scheme of the 4th EEC Directive, the historical series up to 10 years, the master data sheet complete with description of the activity carried out and the optical balance sheet are available. Information such as business sector and product codes, number of employees, shareholders and shareholdings, representatives and managers, default probability, rating and credit score, sector reports, news and extraordinary finance operations are available in Aida. The BvD research and analysis software allows you to calculate sector averages, perform comparisons, statistical analyses, implement customised rating and scoring systems and export data in any format.

Art and Architecture Source

Description: Art related database.
Contents: “Art and Architecture Source” is the result of the merger of “Art full text” with “Art Index retrospective 1929-1984” and with “Art and Architecture complete”, plus another 100 full text titles not found in other databases.
There are more than 2,400 full text journals, 230 e-books and 63,000 images.
Coverage: Full text since 1974; bibliographic records since 1929.

Description: Comprehensive overview of current publications in the field of visual and applied arts.

Contents: This collection includes the specialised indexes ARTbibliographies Modern – ABM - (modern and contemporary art), Design and Applied Arts Index – DAAI - (design and applied arts), International Bibliography of Art – IBA - (culture and history of western art), and finally Arts and Humanity database, (complementary collection of current full-text journals).

ARTSTOR Digital Library

Description: database of images related to the disciplines of art, architecture, humanities.

Contents: The database offers access to a collection of 2.5 million images divided into 300 collections and continuously updated. Images from collections of museums, archives, private collections such as MOMA, the Louvre, the Bodleian Library of Oxford University, the Harvard Peabody Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology and the Magnum Photos agency are enriched with descriptions and metadata.

ASTM Compass

Description: database including standards and publications (journals and e-books) of the American Society for Testing Materials.
Contents: more than 12,500 standards, 123,000 pages of articles published in ASTM journals, 1,500 e-books, 29,000 technical reports and conference proceedings.
Coverage: the entire database is available.

Avery Index

Bibliographic database relating to the disciplines of architecture, design, urban planning, art, archaeology.

Contents: 800,000 bibliographic records of articles in more than 700 international journals, the original core of which is held by the Avery Architectural and fine Arts Library of Columbia University.

British Standards Online: EN, ISO and BSI standards online on the BSOL platform

Description:- EN standards, published by CEN and CENELEC, adopted by BSI (100% of ENs are adopted by BSI) - ISO standards adopted by BSI (94% of pure ISOs are adopted by BSI) - BSI native standards

Contents: The subscription includes both current and non-current regulations.

The standards may be viewed, printed and downloaded within the limits of the terms of use.
Use of the standards is for study and research purposes only. It is forbidden to make any use other than institutional use or to provide the standards to unauthorised third parties.

Building types online

Description: the database includes an extensive international collection of contemporary buildings: housing, offices, museums, schools, libraries, industrial complexes.
Contents: more than 850 buildings; each is illustrated with technical drawings, plans, photographs and articles.

CCDC-CSD 

Descrizione: La banca dati CCDC-CSD (Cambridge Structural Database), contiene oltre 850.000 strutture cristalline di composti organici e metallorganici. Il database offre una copertura completa della letteratura pubblicata.

Procedura per l’accesso: è possibile utilizzare la banca dati in due modalità: una versione web, più limitata, ed una versione con installazione del client CSD Entreprise, che offre maggiori funzionalità. Per una completa installazione occorrono circa 17 Gb di spazio su disco. Per il download dei file da installare è necessario richiedere i codici (Customer Number e Activation Key) all’indirizzo bibli.risorse_elettroniche@polito.it.  Nella mail, oltre a nome e cognome, va indicata la struttura di appartenenza. Saranno accettate esclusivamente richieste provenienti da account istituzionali (@polito.it ) I codici da utilizzare per il download sono strettamente personali e non possono essere ceduti a terzi.

National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER)

Description: Database offering studies and analyses mainly in the fields of macroeconomics, political economy, labour, health and energy policies, econometrics and statistics.

Contents: The entire section of “Working papers”, working documents that have not yet undergone the review of official publications and are intended to make the results of NBER research available to other economists in preliminary form.

Orbis (database Bureau van Dijk)

Description: Orbis is the largest database available with data on global companies. It is the most comprehensive resource of comparable data on listed and unlisted companies worldwide. 

Contents: Has information on over 400 million companies and entities worldwide - including 40 million with detailed financial information. It collects data from over 170 international information providers and hundreds of other in-house sources. One can use Orbis to identify, analyse and compare companies to optimise decision-making processes.

Elsevier’s SciVal offers quick and easy access to research data from 8,500 institutions and 220 countries worldwide.

Authentication is required to access SciVal. You can create a user on the platform, which expires after six months, or, the recommended method, follow the Sign in via your institution and use your university credentials.
