Come and try a practical experience on how to design and invent a small system to interact with the world using electronics, physics, and telecommunications applied to the ARDUINO board. You can discover the charm of this interesting language (EL.FI.CO), versatile and with which you can have a real impact on the world around you. You can understand and discover what it could become if it were more complex and intuit its potential, so as to understand if studying in this field can satisfy your curiosity and creativity.

Wednesday, May 15th, 3 pm, Maxwell Room, Corso Castelfidardo 38.

If you can, bring your laptop. Register using the appropriate link.

(Attention: if your name does not appear among the registered, you will not be able to enter the event room)

You will receive information via email in advance to configure your computer so that it is ready to use the Arduino board.

Project for Cross-Skills and Open Days - ETF Boarding School

Contact person: Mariagrazia Graziano, ETF College

Description: We will work in three main phases -> LEARN, DO, SHOW.

LEARN: In the first meetings, we will work at a laboratory level on the Arduino board to carry out some simple experiments from the point of view of Electronics, Physics, and Telecommunications of an example case: a smartphone and what happens in its subparts when we take a photo and send it. Arduino boards are simple and useful for creating and understanding even for those who do not have the fundamentals of the three disciplines.

In meetings alternating with technical ones, we will deal with awareness and relationship using elements of Transactional Analysis, elements of Honest Communication, active listening, empathic listening, elements of awareness of relational and group dynamics, awareness of the body in relation to others, empathy as a way of being in a technical work group.

From here, by combining technical and relational work, we will focus on: awareness of one’s own value and self-esteem, awareness of the value of others, conscious use of evaluation against devaluation and judgment, honest use of communication, stimulation of inclusion, concentration and attention on the development of work and ongoing dynamics."

DO: In a second part, we will create stable groups where both the acquired technical knowledge and the relational knowledge can be put into practice. The goal of the project will be the development of an idea aimed at stimulating the harmonious connection of people in a relationship, two or more, for example through a game or a system of reciprocal exchange, and in general oriented towards stimulating teamwork.

We will pay attention to the dynamics of group work and to making communication between the components effective based on the aspects learned during the first meetings.

SHOW: Each group will subsequently present its own project to the other groups, celebrating each other’s successes and processes.

Teaching mode: in-person

Number of students: 45

Topics covered:

Technical part: elements of physics, sensors, devices, elements of digital and analog electronics, elements of telecommunications

Part related to awareness and relationship: elements of Transactional Analysis, elements of Honest Communication, active listening, empathic listening, elements of relational and group dynamics

Number of hours per student: 40 hours

Reference period: January/February scheduling 2 meetings/week of 3 hours
