Biography

Giulia Crivello obtained a bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering at Politecnico di Torino (2017) and a master’s degree in Bioengineering at EPFL in Lausanne (2020).
She performed her master’s thesis in prof. Barker's laboratory (A*star, Singapore) studying the effect of AQP5 in gastric cancer with mouse models and cancer cell lines. During her studies, she also worked in the research and development department of Abionic, a Swiss company developing microfluidic systems for rapid diagnostics.
Since 2020, she is doing a Ph.D. at Politecnico di Torino under the supervision of prof. Ciardelli and prof. Mattu, where she is studying the development of polyfunctional nanoparticles to be integrated into supramolecular hydrogels for the treatment of chronic wounds. She is currently collaborating with prof. Tzanov's lab at UPC in Barcelona where she worked for 6 months.
